  1. They are great bikes.I can only comment on the full sus, it can take a heap of abuse. The bb is higher than an average bike setup so you do sit a bit higher, but it gives you better clearance and you dont get as much pedal strike. Check what the Whyte frame warranty is like, I've riden a Marin for the last 10 years and within that time have broken 2 frames, they've replaced them no questions asked.
  2. What would you like to know? I ride a Marin full sus which is designed by the same fella Jon Whyte.
  3. Where you overtaken by a unicycle going downhill?
  4. I would say Groenkloof is XC with a smidgen of trail.
  5. XC is when the roady converts feel safe and comfortable and dont have to dismount at the first hint of rocks or logs across the trail or fire road. Trail is when roady converts discmount. AM/freeride is when they soil their lycra.
  6. You are excused
  7. You need help.
  8. Why dont you use your big blade on downhills? Suggestions of a bashring seems a waste if you are trying to save on weight.
  9. I love the sound of my hopes, the other bonus is it gives the guy in front of you a heads up and tyo get off the trail !
  10. I wonder if this is a case of the thief being within. This smacks of rhino poaching saga which unfolded a while back. Just a thought.
  11. I've got a Chariot Cougar with leaf springs which I may be selling in the near future. http://www.chariotcarriers.com/english/html/cougar.php
  12. Torque = force x radius Assuming the force applied remains the same, the only variable will be an increase in the rotor radius, thus and increase in the torque. Not forgeting that larger rotor has more capacity for heat absorbtion.
  13. Yup thats it, all it does is change your head tube angle, so the geometry and 'feel' of the bike will be different. But remember that most forks nowadays are adjustable, reduce your travel on a techy climb and back to full travel on the downs. Why do you want to put a short travel fork on the bike?
  14. +1
  15. Here is the link I found, but I've never heard of it. http://www.boschkopmtb.blogspot.com/
  16. Tell me about it. I'm new to PTA and came across it doing a web search. Is it worth a visit?
  17. I might be going there this arvo. But because you enter at Fountains during the week they might not have Groenkloof maps at the gate. If I recall the map does not included all the new sections of single track added, but the trails are all well maked anyway.
  18. Can we make you an offer for any gear ?
  19. Shipping cost wont be 40% the value of your goods !
  20. Sorry, you've lost me?
  21. Get it delivered to a mate in the UK then get them to send it on as as a gift.
  22. Evans are notoriously $hite. The only thing they are good for is trying on gear to get the right sizing then ordering online from CRC or Wiggle. I would call them directly and demand your refund.
  23. JC, thanks for the info I'll definetley give it a try, sounds like its just what I'm after.
  24. Thanks for the info - am I right in saying that Tokia will be closed because of the Epic ?
