  1. I think he implies that you should not charge the battery to 100% just a little bit every time, I know Samsung phones have a function to charge the battery only to 85% every time, not sure how true this is.
  2. We(my wife and myself) were there on Saturday, she still remarked how well the place(routes) are marked, I took the flow line which she gave a miss, she carried on, on her own and did not get lost, even around the excavation is well marked, there was only one wooden crossing that was a bit dodge, generally well kept.
  3. There was another hubber that offered to do the replacement on another thread if I can remember.
  4. High-jack on: On sort of a different note, I recently purchased a Compact(used) and never did a fitment test of our mountain bikes on it, after building puzzle for 30 minutes on Saturday, I made it work, got back from our ride and made some changes that helped, I removed the square spacer from the first arm and loosened the outer rail and moved it out(could move around 15mm, Now the Titan Skyrim and Trek top-fuel fits like a glove. HIGH-JACK off.
  5. One of my mates had issues with his SUUNTO, the back-up was even worse, he eventually went for a Garmin.
  6. Darkhorse is Budget friendly but not R6k
  7. There is a code on the lock, they use that code, I recently replaced keys, R140 each, from the boksburg branch.
  8. Look at the Marvel light at Cycle lab, I think they use the same battery.
  9. Trek dealers have a close out on Hardtail e-bikes,
  10. Personally, I like the idea, I converted a MTB 3x 9 to 1x10 and love it, I bought a 42t Narrow wide from Rapide and the 10 speed rear derailleur I had, I use it around our weekday ride and love it. I use a 11-36 cassette, suffer a little on the climbs but in our area, I could get to the top of most climbs. Maybe investigate if your shifter will work with a 11speed XT derailleur, you will find them in the classified section
  11. Looking at the assembly, it does not look very complex, maybe having a complete new one made will be easier and cheaper, I have a few engineering companies on my company vendor list, send me a DM, I will send you a few numbers, depending on where you are.
  12. one more thing that I can add, I think the first half is quite easy, then the climb and corrugation starts.(my opinion)
  13. You should be able to drill it out, Grub screws of that size is normally Gr10.9 and can be drilled with some hassle, you can sharpen a Concrete drill-bit to have a proper cutting edge or heat up the grub screw with an Oxy/acetelene-torch
  14. My advice would be to drill a small hole from the other side and knock it out, but if it was a screw that was cut off, you would need to heat it up, to red hot, drill a hole for an easy out.
  15. The water points are well stocked with PVM bars, Pan cakes, and boiled potatoes, especially the halfway point.
  16. I am not sure if I have had the best of luck with the Garmin edges, I have had a Edge 500, then a 810, then 520, now on a 530(Not going to mention the watches), none of them broke or gave up the ghost, I ended up selling them and then upgrading with NO hassles at all - Garmin Fan boy
  17. Just go and buy one (N+1) if you don't like it afterwards, just sell it here on bike hub
  18. I am so used to the buttons by now, I can not think of using anything else. I am also keen to wait for the Edge 540, will hand the 530 to the wife.
  19. I had Di2 10 speed that was discontinued and insurance wrote-off the bike.
  20. If its the ring that the freehub engages on? I had one similar made by one of my suppliers, mine was for a Kickr trainer.
  21. There has been quite a few updates, try again, you might be surprised. not sure how long ago you had issues.
  22. I am using it with a Windows 11 pc, I will try and do a calendar workout on TP next week.
  23. I will continue to download their updates and try the application for the saving of R300 per month, recently the ANT+ support started working so now the controllable function ERG, is now much beter.
  24. The normal price on that bike is around R52k but solomons cycles have specials on Merida Bikes at killer prices.
  25. Mine is with outsurance with my sort term insurance, my road bike is MUCH more than my mountain bikes, around the same value.
