  1. Well, here is my bit of embarrassing experience. I had to install a new bottom bracket om my Trek Top Fuel and ended up Cross threading the Drive side, when it became a bit difficult to screw in I thought it was the blue-thread lock that was on it, it was only as mission to remove, clean the threads properly and get it in 100% straight, after some choice words I managed to get both sides in properly.
  2. I agree, I gave away almost a full bottle.
  3. It feels like there is a race every morning around 4:40 am amongst our club riders, if you are in the east rand area.
  4. My grandson, is shy of 2 years old, think it's a bit early.
  5. So I decided to respray my bike during December, here is the Frankenbike, Silverback Sola frame, Handle bars from Rapide, non series shifters, frork from Keanbikes, rear deraler GRX with 11-46 casette, front 42 chainring on XT crank, I even got me a stages power meter on the cheap.
  6. Maybe give Buycycle a call, they are the agents and might have some dead ones in their workshop
  7. I just go for conti GP5000 and forget about it, although your wallet won't forget the hurt.
  8. I might give this a go again.
  9. Well, all the best with your recovery, it is not easy or quick, not a nice way to start the year.
  10. I have the same, they tried to mend it with some wire but that broke again, so I am just walking around with a bump on my right shoulder.
  11. I know @TVS Cycles had a few broken ones a while back, but I am sure he would want something for them.
  12. Sorry I will Edit my post, this was 10 speed.
  13. I like 1x set-ups, I would say it is worth it, the big jumps in gears might be something to get used to, I had a 42 front with 11-40 (10 speed) cassette on my build before I went 11 speed. I now have 42 front and 11-42(11 speed) casette.
  14. I must be honest I need some type of motivation, these days just cycling for the enjoyment (on the frankenbike) I have Zero goals set, I might do some panic training if I get "tricked" into doing races.
  15. Good afternoon, fellow hubbers, I am looking for training wheels for a 16" wheel bike, I am fixing for my grandson, Sportsmans have but they are for the 20" bikes, willing to pay if need be.
  16. That is exactly what I have and I love it, tops out at around 48-49km/h at around 100 cadence.
  17. here is a separate thread about monster cross bikes, apart from the lefty shock, I think it's a good start to get your fitness up, you could change the fork out with a rigid carbon fork from Kean-bikes. here is mine.
  18. Cool, if you have strava post your profile link so we could follow you, if you want to.
  19. Look out for test days at some of the trail parks in your area and test ride something decent and feel the difference, then be prepared to part with you hard earned cash or sell a kidney. Trek and Scott have them on a regular basis.
  20. Firstly, look at second had stems here on Bikhub, search for a forum called "I need something you might throw away" most people will swap or even gift you one. Then if you dive deepen into these bikes and look at the bearings used on the hubs and bottom brackets you will notice why they are cheap and the next big thing is the wheels, these "cheap" bikes come with really bad wheels, if you want to go tubeless, these cheap wheels will give you headaches and if you hit some off-road trails you need something you can trust. Look at some secondhand bikes here on bikehub and again ask for advice, Bikehub is very helpful. Great to see someone enjoy Cycling.
  21. I am sure you can find a place but this might be considered an add on the forum.
  22. Don't have any advice but please report back and let us know how it's going, I have had 2 knee ops and the recovery was long, second was a Tibia plateau fracture.
  23. There is an app to do it, just can't remember the name, I think its Dashware or something like that
  24. Have a look at this, very good, user friendly watch at a good price. Garmin Vivoactive 4 | Watches & Wearables | Bike Hub
