You mentioned that another bike was much easier getting up hills, have you checked all the bearings and brakes on the bike you battle with, I had a Silverback with quick release axle and the bearings was a bit loose and if you put the power down, the disc would bind, that cased the bike to feel "heavy" , after I fixed that the bike felt easier.(still riding that bike in a different se-tup)
  6. why would you want to put Acera on, add some money and put something like Deore or SLX on it but I don't think it will be a problem to make the 3 x 9 Acera work on it.

  9. My Trek Top fuel came out with 170mm Cranks and it is a large, I cannot tell you if its better, but I think they have done some research before the launch, I am still fat and unfit on my heavy dual suspension.

  16. Well, here is my bit of embarrassing experience. I had to install a new bottom bracket om my Trek Top Fuel and ended up Cross threading the Drive side, when it became a bit difficult to screw in I thought it was the blue-thread lock that was on it, it was only as mission to remove, clean the threads properly and get it in 100% straight, after some choice words I managed to get both sides in properly.

  20. So I decided to respray my bike during December, here is the Frankenbike, Silverback Sola frame, Handle bars from Rapide, non series shifters, frork from Keanbikes, rear deraler GRX with 11-46 casette, front 42 chainring on XT crank, I even got me a stages power meter on the cheap.
