  1. Yep, I started this topic yesterday saying I was confused on the best way forward. Still confused!!!!
  2. First it was 26" then 29' now 27.5" wheels!!!!!!! Are these the best of both worlds? And will bike manufacturers develop a whole new frame or can we slap the 27.5" wheels onto both 26" and 29" frames??? Seriously confused on the best way to go!!!!!
  3. Have you tried Breedts Nek? Not sure it's in GP though, but it's good hill training.
  4. Thanks all. Looks like Hammer gets good reviews generally and 32GI is also getting a lot of debate on this forum. Cheers G
  5. Three sessions Monday-Friday sounds OK but I wouldn't run more than once a week - and like Robrider says - make sure you rest between sessions. Also watch out for training at 85% of HR on both w-end rides. One high intensity ride is OK but the typical 'Sunday Ride' should be lower intensity easy ride to get time in the saddle. It's better to ride the some route for 25-35% longer than going flat out and trying to finish it quickly. Faster does not = fitter. Training flat out all the time = injury! There is still 8 weeks to go so you should be OK.
  6. I have only ever used MS Staminade Endure for long rides and it seems to work OK for me but is there anything our there that's better. I don't want to drop cash on a bucket of new product only to find it's worse or I just don't like it. Any advice????
  7. I hope you beat the living c@rp out of him? Glad you got away (relatively) OK!
  8. Thanks, will do.
  9. Makes sense I guess, but to get it delivered to a mate in London then sent here means paying double tax (approx 31%)! Will have to make another plan........
  10. Hi, Has anyone had a complete bike shipped by CRC to SA? I'm looking at a CUBE but see they don't ship them here???? Cheers G
  11. Give Linden Cycles a shout, I think they may have some.
  12. Looking for your general opinion. Which is the better tubeless tyre combination on UST rims: Maxxis Crossmarks front and back or Conti Mountain King (front) with Conti Race King (back)? Or something different??
  13. I haven't heard of any incidents at N-farms for at least 6 months. Not sure about the roads/paths out the back gat though.
  14. Yep, I'm gonna do just that.
  15. Thanks to all for the advice, looking forward to hitting some trails.
  16. The bike I'm looking at is a 2009 Yeti 575. Do the 1-3 settings work in the 'open' postion? I thought it was just for propedal?
  17. Thanks, I'll take a look and have a play around to determine the best setup.
  18. Hi, Need some help from those 'in the know'. I'm looking at buying my first full suspension bike wich has a Fox RP23 rear shock. When I took it for a ride the propedal didn't lock completely - is this correct? Should it lock 100% or should there still be a bit of give? Thanks Greg
  19. Anyone looking for Sani2C accommodation for 17 May 2011 before the Adventure contact Anne @ Rocky Mountain Lodge on Cell: 082 577 6771 or email: rockymtnlodge@futurenet.co.za. I had a booking at their B&B but cancelled it cos a new rider in the group has a place in U-berg where we can stay. We stayed at the B&B last year and it's very convenient (+-10km outside U-berg) and reasonably priced.
