  1. Sorry for only replying now but it has been a crazy couple of days with family. Thank you to you and J. Will deffo baby sit too while you take her on dates, don't worry... Haha. Don't know yet where they putting me for the 1st month, but I assume it will be close to work (hence close to you guys). I'm going to have to start moving with all the visa stuff soon. This stupid English thing has got me nervous. I'll get my matrix certificate ready (got a B for English HG), a letter from varsity maybe and a letter from work stating we for all our business in English. I hope that will work. Damn I look at places to rent again, I think I need a house mate.... There's nice places to rent that's worth it if one goes in 2 renters (4bed,2 bath etc) is cheaper than 2 bed 1 bath. Cars are expensive for what one gets I think, oh dear I'm going to miss my dad's perks at VW! Now I'll have to pay normal people's prices.. Hahaha Expected start date 7June. Let's see.
  2. Thanks for the info Ross. If that is the case I will be VERY happy!
  3. What was the results here? I don't know yet if I HAVE to do it, but I fear this will be the most difficult test in all this immigration thing for me to pass...... I hate languages
  4. I just got my offer from Auckland. Guess I'll be packing up this side now.
  5. My ride (not my bike again) today started at a mall and ended at the river pass some wild life...
  6. My seat is actually always turned a bit to the right due to the issues in my left leg/ groin area, but it looks a bit excessive although it felt fine.
  7. Not my bike but it has taken me to somewhere between Bushmans River month and Port Alfred... A nice 75km ride on a 160mm travel bike is always good.. Hahaha
  8. I had such a good laugh reading this the other day, I read this just now again for a 'pick-me-up' Click on all the pics to see all the responses (it is the pic itself) https://www.facebook.com/maxi.at.xlri/photos/a.110485982378236.19780.110478655712302/816901218403372/?type=3&theater
  9. There is actually a lot going on there.... http://www.nzherald.co.nz/crime/news/article.cfm?c_id=30&objectid=11603517 (You can follow from that link to other stories too) Edit: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/crime/news/article.cfm?c_id=30&objectid=11604108 http://www.nzherald.co.nz/crime/news/article.cfm?c_id=30&objectid=11604413 http://www.nzherald.co.nz/crime/news/article.cfm?c_id=30&objectid=11605471 http://www.nzherald.co.nz/crime/news/article.cfm?c_id=30&objectid=11607130
  10. As far as I know the higher the c (and inflated to correct pressure) the less the road contact hence less road resistance...
  11. 15km ain't enough for a warm up for me, it only comes after 25km+. Have no idea why. Also those speeds i a bunch I will never want to do (not in the bunches I ride in sadly)
  12. Sheesh that made me say the "D..." word out loud. That's some serious climbing on cold legs and crazy descending. Maybe I will attend. (If I don't end up doing Panarama Tour)
  13. Don't know if it has been mentioned here before: https://www.bikewise.co.nz/places-cycle/auckland edit: http://tracks.org.nz/
  14. That grinds me about event pages...MANY races in general have crap web pages On a race page the 1st things I want to see (clearly) without looking for it is: date, distance, elevation, cost and start point Apparently it is R6500 per team though
  15. R2325 These are the ladies specific ones so no shop in SA has them yet.
  16. Anyone here doing the MalutiDouble90? http://malutidouble90.co.za/
  17. I haven't been on my bike much lately, but saw this on my short Cradle ride today and thought it was amazing...
  18. Can not wait to go for a ride - wish is was going to be with my Intense, but nou ja.
  19. Not just overseas. Seen them about 3 years ago at my nephew's school in Panorama in CPT and I do thing at CPT international airport they have those too. Edit: He is the one outside his school:
  20. But housing alone will be at least 3 times higher for me (compared to current)
  21. I have been there before, stayed only for 2 days though but I couldn't fault other than the weather being much colder than the rest of the country (in the time we were there). Also the surroundings seems a bit 'cheaper' if you know what I mean, maybe because it is a big student town/city. Like mentioned, it is 'close' to Queenstown and the surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful (but then again, most of NZ is).
  22. I have a feeling because it is the communication link to Antarctica which has major (if not the biggest) research centers in the world. I know of many South African weather and climate research happening there currently and of course most of the travel to Antarctica happens from there too.
  23. I would like to. I wont be able to scrape a team together, but maybe one or 2 more if others are looking to fill a team, let me know.
  24. I decided to do a solo-heatseaker this afternoon from home to the cradle (caves) and back. The distance would have been 120km but I had to 'phone a friend' at 103km to fetch me on Witkoppen because it was just too warm to do on water alone (6liters of water over the distance, crazy! ) Been loving riding Ghost the last couple of months @Valtevrede
