  1. I went straight over that berm at the bottom before
  2. We will be around tomorrow. See you then.
  3. haha...I have to ask...the cheating or the possibility increasing of actually being caught? edit: spelling
  4. This must be one of the things that leaves me most frustrated in my life!
  5. I think so. I wear a full lenth compression sock on my one leg. This thing is super tight (takes me about 5min to get it on). It is for medical reasons. I have been riding without it the last 2 month or so, but back to wearing it full time since last week again (unfortunatly the intial problem never went away fully.) So I find after a ride where I pushed a bit harder than my usual snail pace that my leg without the sock has muscle pain and more tired the next day, the one with the sock feels fine. I have in the last 2 years try to see if it isnt because I 'push harder' with the other leg, but it isnt, because that is the usual side with knee pain due to skew back/ITB/etc. So yes, I think it helps.
  6. someone must tell them that isn't marriage
  7. I am also concerned about the fact that there is not 'foot' under the square tubing which stands on the pavement. That thing is going to move!
  8. I have mine. I'll be keen to do something like this!
  9. I lost count about the amount of people (non riders and riders) whose 1st question (or one of the 1st few) were "so how much does your bike weigh?" When I say 14kg (obviously not refering to my DH bike), their usual response is something like "lighter bikes cost more hey.." ...they think I have a Makro bike. Some people know absolutely nothing about bikes. (These are the same people that think if you have done the Argus you must be a great super fit rider.)
  10. I am keen to go. Let me know when you all are heading there please.
  11. LOL!!!!
  12. I opened mine up last night only.... Cleaned it out, 'put grease in, spin with fingers, put grease in, spin with fingers x 100' now they are smooth again. Good because replacing them is going to be a bitch - being a press BB and all. The fork lowers I think needs a clean up.
  13. I always wanted a single seater to be the focus point in my lounge. i think I am getting this made for my house..
  14. What's the speed going to be like? If 35+km/h then I guess I will have to do a solo ride and eat left overs
  15. Of course it was that one, why would I post it and say that? OTB vs land to flat = broken neck vs broken foot Not at all. All I was trying to say with it is that even a simple design, which I would also think is more than acceptable could cause accidents and serious injuries (and these rides where way more advanced than most riders that will ride this race in question). I know she was also not the only one that went down on that bridge. I saw it with my own eyes. Most of the posts here were talking about the angle going up to the bridge but I think from a rider's technical ability the angle coming off is more crucial, especially if the bikes that will be used dont have 'forgiving' suspension. OTB's will happen if the angle between the off ramp and ground is too small. (So try and keep that as flat as possible too) Also if you were to use wood, make sure there is enough grip on it. In most cases chicken-mesh (think that is what it is called) is used, but I have seen people that run tubes getting punctures on it if it has points standing up. I like the point that was made that it should be wide enough for people to also be able to get off their bikes and push. There might be at that same time another rider riding past.
  16. At sani2c in 2011..
  17. This was a fatal design ...
  18. HELMETS http://www.wfs.org/Upload/u19037/Shockbox%20montage.pngShockbox is a small, flexible sensor that fits inside of a sports helmet and monitors the history of head impacts athletes sustain. Shockbox sensors communicate using Bluetooth to immediately alert parents, coaches, and trainers in the event of a concussion-level impact. The mobile app will show the direction and severity of the hit along with the player’s name and date and time. The phone application has the capacity to link with up to 100 helmet sensors and connect to sensors within a hundred yard range. In that athletic head injuries cause 21 percent of traumatic brain injuries among U.S. children and adolescents, it is critical to understand when someone has been hit too hard.
  19. Oh no. Thanks for the heads up! yes, like said, the marked ones close to the clubhouse is great too! Enjoy!
  20. I agree with Spirog. The secret though is that the best of the best trails are on the hill accross the road from the clubhouse and I dont know if there is a map for 1st timers to explain how to get to them. I would also love to go there soon soon again!
  21. When I saw that pic earlier I thought exactly the same thing! Would like to know what his reply would be if he is asked how that part of his body is feeling!
