  2. the momsen is tricky to set up but is the lightest non carbon searpost you will get. i have 2 oe on my scott and one on my Trek 29ers. i had the same problem that the setback seatpost coming with the scott and replaced with SU. Retails 850. if your LBS dont stock them just ask it took 2 days for me to get one the new momsen is machined and looks more like the thompson now

  4. I react also to b sting but not that bad. i ride with a anti hist and cortisone combo pills. never used it till tonigh i was cleaning up a messy tubless tyre fit and then got whacked. Had the pills down the hatch witihn a minute

  12. sometimes getting a tubless tyre to take onto a rim is a very vloekerige and frustrating event. does anyome know if those little air compressors one can buy from makro and builders warehouse... if they have enough airflow fast enough to seal the tyre?
  13. was this the snakeskin version? very weird about stans....are you sure it was a hole...maybe not a dud tyre which did not seal on the rim?
  14. in paragliding we use full face helmits. never needed it but it makes sense, ever since ive swapped the sky for the dirt ive been wondering why we ride with such flimsy headgear...and i dont mean a DH or motorbike helmit just a mtb helmit with a chin guard. saw a lady on track the other day with one and though that was mightly smart of her. i know if i get one my buddies will laugh and point but really....should be not be a bit more sensible?
  15. im now trying a icon on the rear. its ok feels fast but it slips more on inclined gravel and on breaking. i dont think its as forgiving as RR. i am running rocket rons upfront they are blerrie awesome.my all time rear rubber is geax akas but they dont last very long

  17. ok this may not help but here goes...the harder i train the more i cheat eat the less i loose. when i focus on loosing weight i only do medium slowish rides...2 3 hours of fun.1 scoop gi32 per hour no more no less. then i dont feel tired and dont eat too much point 2 - go chemical...here is my diet...breakfast future life. snack banana. lunch USN meal replacememt with one scoop protein power extra. snack biltong.supper eat before 7 lots of veggies smal protein and carbs portion. take appetite supressant through the day but just a supress ant no other magic junk. point 3 . do all of your calculations based on your target weiht not current weight. e.g. work out your BMR at say 85...not 110. the fat does not drive your methabolism your muscles do. i even have my garmin and polar set on my target weight point 4. be consistant. always weight yourself at the same time i.e. first thing in the morning after a pee. eat the same lunch

  19. look all the drugs in the world is not going to compensate for my genetic disposition or lack of time to train or commitment so for me its an accademic debate cause at best ill go from suck to avverage. the point im making is that there is an emotional mindset that cheating in any sport is when someone else does something i could not do so hormones is cheating cause i dont know how to get it on the black market or the fancy bike cause my dad was not rich. my polar watch is a major part of my pacing method so is that cheating? i dont use drugs as its in my case gonna be a massive waste in money i dont have but i just think that before we scream cheater just use your head and make sure you know what the issue is im sure there are good reason...but im still ignorant
  20. who decides what substances are banned and why? is it because its unsafe or provides a potential unfair advantage? can you do a 100 km mtb race without your gi32? thats not banned... and your cramp pills.? how far before you collapse? carbs alone is the most important race nutrient and its not banned. is it because its cheap? depo testosterone is very cheap when legally obtained. so epo which gives a 1 percent boost is more unfair than carbs which gives a what 50 percent boost? your 70 k bike surely gives you an advantage over my 20 k bike? So money may discriminate...? And you have more time to train so thats also unfair... So i dont quite get it...who draws the lines and what the reasons are... but im sure there are some smart people who will educate me now please just keep it factual and not just say its cheating cause its something you dont do

  23. i have a 60 km route out at klerksdorp. from the main road turn on Wessel street northbound. there is a garage about 3 km out on the left. park there. ride out of town on wessel turn right at about 4 km on the dirt road. this goes past klerksdorp dam up to brakfontein. flat and fast i love it.
