  1. She's coming along nicely :-) I know I need to shorten the left brake hose.
  2. As Myles said. Any LBS that stocks Giant. They don't keep many of them though......
  3. I got it from Willams in Somerset West. It's got the Kashima DPS EVOL. Not the normal CTD
  4. good to hear..... they are pretty much bomb proof.... I've got a set on my 29er HT too....... I've always heard people say " light, strong, cheap...... pick 2 of those options" I found that tge i23's can deliver all 3 options, until recently, unfortunately, the price has gone up.
  5. I see the i23s are built and had their first ride. Nice. First opinions?
  6. amazing. ..... but those roots in the first few KM..... and that long descent. ...... .
  7. It was a bit treacherous with the downhills in the forest due to the rain the previous day. Some of those sections had to be walked. ...... But definitely worth the R38
  8. Harkerville Red Route
  9. 39t are usually paired with 26t chainrings.
  10. Isn't the maximum difference between chainrings 14teeth? I'm certain I read this somewhere.
  11. Did you bed in the pads? This will clean the surfaces of any glazing and build up as well.

  13. Actually that formula woud equal x10% x40%
  14. Maybe the seals would get less dirt and grit in facing down like that. But the pro pedal lever is definitely easier to get to in that configuration.
  15. Is this being televised? If not, where are you getting the info?
  16. 2 things you need to note. Firstly, you cannot compare online srore prices with Bike Shop prices. If you can get it cheaper online, and you're willing to take the risk on the part not fitting, then by all means. ...... get it online. Secondly, it takes labour to strip down, and rebuild a wheel. The person doing that needs to be paid. Expecting that for free is like dropping parts off at the mechanic, and then expecting the service done free. Other than that. ........ you have a legitimate gripe if the salesman was rude to you. If you were demanding a free wheelbuild and expecting online prices at a bike shop....... then I'll have to go with the salesman on this one.
  17. Try the XX/XO metal Pad......... The difference is noticeable. The Elixirs will never be as good as XT's, but don't warrant replacing either. Try the XX/XO pad from Avid. That's what I did, and it worked for me.
  18. I find most Taxi Drivers to be dangerous Road Hogs................. However, I think it's only fair to treat each one on merit. So this is pleasantly surprising....... BUT I'M STILL NOT CONVINCED
  19. One thing to note is that you'll probably never get it perfect again. Especially if you've already taken a Hammer and Vice to it already. The best you'll get to do is to minimize the rub. Just get a cheap new rotor.
  20. It depends on which one you get. But if your car, or the rack are dusty........ you'll be sure to scratch your paintwork. I have actually added soft foam rubber to the legs that clamp to the boot. too early to tell if it is the solution, but we'll have to see.
  21. See if you can get a loan/test specialized saddle. They pretty much have a saddle for everyone. Even their firmer saddles are more comfortable than some very plush ones.
