  1. Forgot about the Whiplash too
  2. I went for a test ride 3 weeks ago. I was contemplating putting on my helmet because I was just gonna test gearing for about 1km. I ended up putting on my helmet. 5min later I had a cracked helmet, a concussion and a minor bleed on the brain. I came off so stupid, but lesson learned. ...... never leave without the helmet...... ever. Even if it's for 1km
  3. Is it a dual suss or hardtail?
  4. Is this a recent occurrence? Check your free hub body. There could be a crack. If that goes while on a ride, it could be a long walk back. ........ it happened to me.
  5. Don't forget about the "Administration" costs. ...... which incidentally never gets published.
  6. You can use any Smartphone or GPS device. Also you can use a free, local application on your desktop, with no requirement for an internet connection. It's called SportTracks from Zone Five Software.
  7. I use SRAM chainrings on my XT Crank. SRAM has a 44t 10speed chainring. That may work. Double and triple check before buying.
  8. Hi. The My Workout Option is a saved workout to your Specifications. So If you do Certain Types on workouts frequently, like a time based 45min workout, or a calorie based workout, or an interval workout, etc. The actual recorded activity you did under that workout profile is saved under History. This is uploaded to brytonsport.com, or saved to your PC when you want. So in short, if you are looking for the workout file that you have completed, that you want to download or upload, go to "History", and if you want to save a specific workout that you do a lot, then you save it as a profile in "My workouts"
  9. The reason why LBS's are pushing 29er and 650b........ its more expensive. ....... at one point 650b tyres were almost a grand each........
  10. No Need to Replace the clamp.
  11. Try to unclamp the Quick Release (open position) then give the nut on the other side a quarter or half turn. Then close the QR mechanism again. Repeat process until the seatpost stops moving.
  12. Custom build. Hope, ST Swiss, WTB frequency i23
  13. I got a quote for Hope Hubs and WTB frequency i23 for R5500. I think thwe WTB's are better rims, with no weight penalty.
  14. Turn the Derailleur slightly outward. This may solve the issue. I had a similar problem. Only happened on small chainring. Is it possible that you only rode it on the middle chjainring? That could be why you never noticed it.
  15. There is definitely a noticeable difference between slx and xt shifters. .... believe me. However, brakes, rotors and crankset would be a better to upgrade first. Wheels later.
  16. Overpriced at around R500
  17. Uhm...... yes. So good I keep 2 spare....... because they are sold out most of the time. And you'll save 250g per tyre over crossmark UST. PS. Why is SB8 not an option?
  18. Kenda Small block 8 or Specialized Fast Trak 2bliss. The Spez tyres come in at under R400
  19. Kenda Small block 8 or Specialized Fast Trak 2bliss. The Spez tyres come in at under R400
  20. Is not a tyre with low rolling resistance.
  21. Use the valve as a marker, roll the wheel through 1 revolution .... measure from mark to mark .... you have you circumference. Or you can Google ir you tube it.
  22. That's probably the most difficult question to answer. What type of riding do you prefer? I'd start with Oak Valley and/or Lebanon. But you can spend lots of time in Grabouw and never get bored.
  23. Wheel circumference. Usually set to use with a speed sensor. It's optional if you use your bike on an indoor trainer..... so you can get an indication of distance while on the IDT. Or some people feel they prefer the speed sensor reading over the GPS speed. In my opinion. ..... use it if you have an indoor trainer. ...... if not. Stick with GPS
  24. Fisrtly you quote online stores. .... he obviously went into a bike shop. .... so you can't compare prices.Secondly. .... if I'm not mistaken yhe Karakoram comes with Maxxis Aspen tyres...... and no LBS worth their salt would do a tubeless conversion with those and guarantee that they will stand up to any kind of riding.PS. I did all my conversions myself. And I don't work at a cycle shop. ....... jyst wanted to clear that up.
  25. It's not really a complete rip off....... to be fair. ..... a Stans 29er kit costs close on R900 now..... maybe a bit cheaper. Add at least R250 for an hour's Labour and you're looking at R1150. 2 UST tyres at R600 is normal. So it's a bit over priced. ...... but not daylight robbery. PS. I'll go Stans over Ghetto any day..... even if its R500 more.
