  1. Oh, you mean, lazy assed don't bother to check your facts, typical sloppy attitude of most journalists? I did a google and got a DNF for the Olympic RR - go BOB!!!
  2. Thanks Michael!!
  3. It's at Northcliff for a check-up - front derailleur took a slight hit and her SLR carbone saddle got a bit lighter but may have cracked though The lady was very apologetic...
  4. Add Slo-Jo for the win - I mean to the list. Jo got hit by a car this am - a bruised leg and a gash on her arm - but she should recover in time! Car claimed she didn't see her while we were going straight and she crossed over on Witkoppen!
  5. 2009-06-02 10:44 Potchefstroom - An Olympic cyclist was stabbed and injured in a house robbery in Potchefstroom in North West province, Beeld newspaper reported on Tuesday. Hichem Chaabane, who achieved fifth place in the Beijing Olympics last year, was admitted to hospital with stab wounds to the shoulder and leg. Chaabane, who is Algerian, and four fellow international cyclists were held up in a house in Potchefstroom at about 06:30 on Sunday. The four robbers stabbed Chaabane and kicked and hit the other cyclists before making off with some cash, laptop computers and five cellphones, police said. All the cyclists, who were training in Potchefstroom, are members of MTN's cycling team. Chaabane was expected to be discharged from hospital on Tuesday. The other cyclists sustained minor injuries. http://www.news24.com/Content/SouthAfrica/News/1059/8c69a59527f74d88a23be17fe7277b0c/02-06-2009%2010-06/Olympic_cyclist_stabbed - SAPA

  7. Slo-Jo and I are in - we still need to sort out back-up though!
  8. Its a free for all in Africa Great stuff Yang - now my team mate can focus on SAs!!
  9. If it were more affordable I would go once a week. Currently Slo-Jo and I give each other leg rubs - but for races like SabieX and Panorama we struggled to find the energy!
  10. I dsou not like se French... http://www.solarpaces.org/Library/Legislation/flag-France.svg.jpgFlemish Lion2009-05-15 06:37:14
  11. You first test the tyre without any slime to avoid the above... JB helped me with mine - my tyres were too weak (blew off the rim with a rather BIG bang) so he swapped mine for a tubeless set in similar condition - GREAT service!!
  12. Beide fietsen worden op 2 oktober geveild ten voordele van Livestrong. 2 oktober is de dag waarop voor het eerst kanker werd vastgesteld bij Armstrong. So both bikes will be auctioned on October 2nd...
  13. And his TT bike http://www.nieuwsblad.be/assets/images_upload/2009/05/05/trek_rr.jpg
  14. They all rode for Gerolsteiner in 2008 - Stefan Schumacher, Davide Rebellin and Bernhard Kohl
  15. "M.Tov! Gaaaaaahhhhhreeeee!"
  16. Graeme did a great job to convince An-Li to ride single bikes (and not tandem). It must have been such a valuable experience for An-Li being able to race with her coach! Their descending sessions at Hekpoort clearly paid off!
  17. Thanks for these awesome photos Ronelle - excluding the pantani one It was great to see the pros pushing the non-pros! That TT was a killer - I struggled to keep Jo's wheel on some of those hills. It was great to see how Jo improved her climbing/descending/racing compared to last year!
  18. Another thread? Please check active topics before posting
  19. Mtbike - road? Try cyclelab at Giba - I got to test ride a Trek full suspension XTR demo model free of charge!! I was VERY impressed with them and that was on a day the shop and office were closed - Jason from Giba organised this for me - talking about going the extra mile!!
  20. Gotta love carbon
  21. No, the West Rand - imagine if this race was held in the East Rand
  22. The spectators were going banannas when they saw Tom in the front. I saw some guy hitting Hausller on the head with some object' date=' he looked back and was clearly very angry. Plus they were throwing beer in Potzato's face as he was trying to catch Boonen. Not nice [/quote'] When Boonen raced his first Paris Roubaix he was spat upon and cladded with beer by Belgians too while he was chasing Johan Museeuw! He said he still hadn't recovered from that!! Besides the crowd hadn't forgotten Pozzato's passive racing in RVV when he was shadowing Tom the whole race... Not nice I know, some spectators seem more interested in getting drunk then seeing the race!
