  2. Thanks - I'm sure we looked DEAD like everyone else
  3. That's Flemish Lion. Cool pic! Only...he'll LOVE it Thats me indeed, chasing my team after a puncture at 150km - got back with 30km to go. We got second in the mixed - we learned a lot and have plenty of space to improve... thanks Standard Bank!!
  4. Howzat Collin, Jo and I also used your gels, we used a similar pattern Zaskar did - I just timed them every 30 min - I felt strong all the way through. Taste wasn't great but my mom made me eat worse tasting foods when I was young. Jo's experience wasn't good, she started feeling crap near the end of the race and had seriaaaas stomach cramps after the race and even the next day. Not sure why we reacted so differently - Jo will not use them again as she felt crap for a long time after the race. We both got 8th in elite ladies and VA, respectively.
  5. yaya' date=' kiss my ass. "We" could post pics...we had that once, remember, whereafter you put all blame on me! thanx buddy dude. [/quote'] We're a team Legend, but you have the insanely broad shoulders whom can easily carry all the blame
  6. Legend and I could post some 'nice' photos of Admin on this thread - but we fear the consequences. Saw some interesting ones on Facebook not so long ago...
  7. Thanks Spinnekop! Nice meeting you too... Will contact them, I don't think the Garmin sponsorship is confirmed yet! Heard about the loss of an engagement ring - I'll stop complaining about a stupid gps unit I hope it turns up!
  8. Thanks Don - maybe the Garmin dealers should have told us that!! It's an expensive loss... Jo got 5th, but was too upset to care about her result. I got 6th in VA's - a good warmup for 94.7! Thanks sammajoor - will contact them!
  9. ? my wifes (Jo) Garmin Edge 305 lying on the N4 about 5km after the turnaround point ? about 2km past the second bridge ? in the grass left of the tarr. There are no obvious land marks on that stretch of the N4 so can't be more specific! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> So 45km into the race going downhill Jo?s Garmin broke off the mount (it was clipped on properly as only half the mount is left) and flew across the other side of the N4 (jumped all lanes ? incl. yellow lane) in the grass. She looked for it after the turnaround point and couldn?t see it? She asked the marshals and back-up vehicles to have a look ? not sure if they did! I know the chances of finding it are slim? but if you don?t ask? Are we the first to experience a failure of the Garmin mount bracket? Jo was really upset as she loved the unit? Perhaps we?ll just buy a Polar watch next? The weather was too miserable to go look for it! Did anyone see it or can anyone give me contact details of Andre (race organiser) to check lost/found property? Thanks for your help!
  10. This is a very SICK kind of humor!! Heard the dude left a wife and 2 kids behind and it wasn't a newby! Luckily he didn't hit any innocent people... I had a supermotard for a few years - even with such a 'slow' machine (165 km/h max) it wasn't easy to control myself now and then - loved the 'kicks' too much! Just stick a photo of your family on your petrol tank or something... behave yourself out there Nice bike btw!
  11. The BeamX isn't a BAD light - The halogen isn't great - would be better if they would swap the halogen for another LED - more light and better battery life. But then again - my wife got one semi-sponsored and she rides road... The battery pack easily fits in the back pocket and the lights are very secure on the handlebars - the connection between the battery pack and lights isn't that easy to secure - a good velcro is needed...

  16. Man' date=' every time I think about the Spring classics I get all excited and I have to sit down! Right on my front door Anyone got a schedule yet so I can book my leave for those days?[/quote'] Tour of Flanders - first Sunday of April... My gran lives on the Kwaremont - I can organise you a front seat And 'one-dayers' don't dope? Museeuw was sms'ing back and forth with his doctor about 'wespen' - nesp was the 2nd generation of EPO... Boonen better not pull anymore tricks on us (Belgians) OR he'll be public enemy numero uno What cookies does your gran like? Tommeke will be right up there next year. I have this feeling that he has sorted his **** out and he seems very hungry. Lets hope he gets his act together! My gran likes the Dutch 'space cakes' You better come up with an action plan to see the peloton a couple of times on those hills - the vibe on 'De muur' must be amazing!!

  19. Damn! Must have missed this. Was it televised? Exactly like the Beijing Olympics but with ducks?? Listen china' date=' us dutchmen call it Peking. Oraait? ...and if you don't believe me (or Flemish Lion), read this (OK, try to read it): De Nederlandse Taalunie heeft een jaar of tien geleden een lijst met buitenlandse aardrijkskundige namen opgesteld. Daarin is gekozen voor Peking. "De Werkgroep heeft als benaming voor de hoofdstad het exoniem Peking bewaard, omdat zij de indruk heeft dat de donornaam Beijing onvoldoende is geaccepteerd."[/quote'] That?s what happens when you translate stuff in a rush <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Thanks for saving my butt Willehond ? BUT don?t ever call me Dutchmen again ? ever!! Marc Coucke ? the boss of Silence-Lotto suggested that perhaps they should freeze the start- and prize money of the pro-cyclists on a bank account (not their wage) and release it at the end of their careers ? IF they been dope free?
  20. It was announced that the 2008 Peking Olympics urine/blood samples will be kept till 2016 and submitted to the most advanced tests available... Many heroes could turn into zeros... ditto to cycling...
