Prize money is not the only requirement to make a race. There's a start line, a finish line and a few testosterone fueled, lycra clad, carbon fibre sporting individuals some of whom are UCI license holding and not necessarily "index requirement" compliant who fully recognize it as "a good day out RACING their bikes". Haven't seen any rules stating Batch A - Z is for funriding with restricted speeds etc etc. Either way. Each to his own. Hopefully the furnriders end up further down the alphabet soup to keep things safe and everyone happy.

I get you but let's give it a year or so in use by the consumer. Not to say you or DCR is not trustworthy of course. I'm happy to be "proven wrong/totally bowled over" by this product. Just how I feel. And so you know. I once said I wont touch Vectors for a year or two after its release was delayed so many times. Against all this I stood in a shop one day and allowed myself to be talked into buying it only days after its release. Touch wood I haven't regretted that decision too often.

I like the way you put it. "A wobble" is not uncommon but I get the feeling the Boks can’t really afford to send an under strength team into any of the pool games. They need to build on continuity after the Pumas exposed them in Durban. Focus on combinations once HM decided what his best team is. That 36-0 routing of the Poms you mentioned above was the Boks’ best game that tournament. Similarly last time around the All Blacks played their game of the tournament against the Frogs in the pool stage. So seems to be a trend that teams play out of their souls in the pools but then finals rugby is just mentally so different. I reckon for where the Boks are currently at, they really need to build their combinations/confidence and aim to peak by the semis and carry that through to the final. But now all this talk is starting to wet my appetite for the WC. Something I haven’t had any mojo for as yet.

They've been showing the history of the WC on World of Rugby interviewing players with an insert of John Smit talking about how they've focussed on this for 4 years leading up to '07. He mentioned "believe". Said something like saying you believe is one thing and acting like you believe being another. It meant you have to walk like you believe and look like you believe you're going to win the WC which every member of that squad did. They showed an image of Smit leading that team onto the field walking out the tunnel next to the English and I must admit the look on his face and the stride in his steps described everything he was articulating in his words through this interview so many years later. That really drove home for me what it takes to win the WC. The All Blacks look good. AS ALWAYS. But knockout competitions doesn't suite their style of play.

Apparently P1's is supposed to be far more painless than the Vectors, although that could be the marketing talk. Let's see once it's rolled out for use. Price wise seems good. Isn't the Vectors retailing for more than 20k? Compared to crank based systems still pricey though.

I'd definately opt for the trees (it's not a cliff - trees are set back). At the very least you have time to look for a soft landing spot or roll. Coming to a dead stop at that speed is just bad news.

Sounds plausible but it implies I'm sub3 material so I'm not convinced. I finished just outside the top 1000 in 2015 and top 1000 did 3:08 in 2014. Not that we can compare anyway. The longer distance I'm sure changes the entire spectrum considering endurance and fatigue.

Probably not far off considering the winners did 1:01 but I would venture a sub 1:10 equivalent to the sub 3 full monty.

While I agree this ref's interpretation is dodge at best we clearly haven't learnt from the past. We should have people who analyse these refs, their views and games officiated. Ultimately we have to play to the refs whistle. That means adjusting our play to what the ref is doing. Not what we've trained, been told or thought beforehand.

Recorded the game and walked in on the last 5 minutes. No need to watch but now I can't comment. Not often I root for an Aussie team but I liked that result. All Black's looked mediocre. But still world cup winning material considering the poor opposition.

Therein is the confusion. I believe last year was 35k cap including international. I might be wrong though.

We didn't do too badly this year no? 32k finishers. Most in any of the Tours I've done.

Couldn't have been a better final. Chuffed for the Landers. Thoroughly deserved. Very impressive how these guys can stick to and still execute their game with such high stakes and obviously immense pressure and doing it so well on top of it. Compared to some SA teams that seem to just flop in playoff games. That's not a criticism bytheway. Just an observation.
