  1. Nee man. What a legend. Transformed the face of mountain biking in South Africa for almost 25 years. What a loss.
  2. I had a long fight with one of the chat agents a while back. They have implemented "pricing by region", which explains the price discrepancies. My account was also made stukkend, and apparently I had to log a call to get it fixed, which according to them could take months. "Rather sign up with a new email address", the guy said. Really liked chainreaction, but this is a disaster. Pretty sure their SA sales are a drop in the bucket, so we are probably way down on the list
  3. Mens XCO on DSTV? Anyone? Only got the u23 road 🤢
  4. Yes, riding days, not racing days 🤣
  5. What he said. I paid my entry and I am torn. I know Jonkers when the NorthWester is howling and sheets of rain gushes through. We can call it mountainbiking in any conditions, but I am not 30 and single anymore, I pay for expensive parts myself, so if I am trying proof something, the fact is, nobody cares. Just go and ride the trails on Monday.... 🤣
  6. Nsquared were in trouble long before the bike industry had issues. Years of countless lies and empty promises and often borderline stealing. Ask any bike shop that had dealings with them. It looks like it finally caught up with them. I dont wish liquidation on anyone, but hey karma, die wiel draai, goes around yada yada. Julesfield, sorry for your loss. I would not be surprised that they forced you into a small just to move some remaining stock. Probably best to move the parts to a new frame, and sell the small frame.
  7. Not so obvious. "able to buy some Shimano goodies for your bikes from your supplier of choice" could also mean that C$%^heat is lifting their powermoneygrab and we can all import Shimano from wherever we want. Not holding my breath! As if that wasn't happening anyway ????
  8. Great post thanks, but I am mostly interested in this sneaky comment... please do elaborate! ????????????????????????
  9. ag nee man. Great team, and offering... will definitely leave a massive gap
  10. Top edit Doug! (and quick turnaround!) Great event! Thanks all, mtb highlight of the year for sure!
  11. All that marketing speak maak my naar... unparalleled, unconditional, R19999 value competitively priced, challenges all expectations, innovative.... and the best one yet = thoughtful...
  12. World-class journalism comes to the Hub... well done Lance B!
  13. Everyday is a school day! That Elgin package is a proper steal! What are you waiting for? Do it!
  14. Then this happened... Karma... goes around, comes around. Check Mate. Game Over
  15. Lets all try to complete a gruelling 21min30s downhill (at fastest-in-the-wolrd speeds), AFTER 4 other stages and 28min of racing... We have no idea of the skill involved, THIS is mountainbiking.
  16. Brilliant day, great organising Dirtopia, and top shots Chris!
  17. Lots of spec mistakes: Easton Haven 55mm stem DT Swiss XM401 wheels Maxxis Ardent & Ikon tires
  18. Proper bike! Can we vote remotely, from other places in Africa? Places where these bikes actually roam freely? Places where there are elevation in abundance, and less altitude?
  19. Great work Chris as always! And yes, only hipsters allowed...
  20. Do you have any experience to back this statement?
  21. She is finally complete! Two years of saving and waiting for the right components I finally build the perfect all day singletrack warrior for South African conditions - 10.9kg, dropper post, 120/100mm travel, 650b, carbon beauty! Almost too low BB height in the 26" version of this bike, makes this puppy a cracker when converted to 650b! Running 120mm travel front and 100mm rear changes the head angle enough. Combined with a wheelbase of only 1062mm makes this bike extremely nimble, and ready to attack most singletracks in South Africa. And you have to get custom rim and fork decals... 22. Well done Greg, massif performance! Also well done to Johann Potgieter for holding the lead at 4:13 for some time!
  23. Can someone put me in touch with the SA guys who took part in the 2012 BC bike race! @Morewoodmad, can you hook me up with Nic and Simon Lamond maybe? Shot man!
