  1. Just got back from 2 weeks in the Alps Week 1 the Mega at Alp D'Huez...crazy race, crazy riders, but what an experience Week 2 was BSM for a day PDS for 3 days and Verbier for a day All really good in different ways. None of the 3 of us had ridden in the Alps before, all I can say is do it. Rent a camper, and hit the road. If you are changing locations drive in the evenings, lifts close at 5 and it gets dark at 10...plenty of time to move around. Pretty much already talking about the next trip....this stuff is super addictive.
  2. There's a pic
  3. Bought the 9.8 Fall line dropper...very nicely made and no issues with the ordering/delivery process.
  4. 1.92cm XL Have changed many parts on the bike. Wheels, brakes, bars, suspension (front and rear) and now have the 9Point8 dropper (200mm) I luv this bike, maybe not the best climber, but as stated above really fun to ride and a really heavy hitting trail bike Mine is going to the Mega this year, I have no worries about the bike, just the rider
  5. Thanks very much, will drop them an email
  6. Thanks for the info, Morzine is sorted. I'm asking about Verbier (Switzerland)
  7. Anybody have any experience/suggestions for a good campervan site in Verbier/Le Chable? Super keen to also try it out as the trails look epic, but can't seem to find anywhere for the camper that is close by. Can you park in the open areas there? i.e. near the lifts? or is it big fine country?
  8. I'm going with 2 mates. Mega first, then some bikeparks. 2 weeks of fun, crashing and drinking a few beers!!
  9. In KZN they normally split the first 2 or 3 stages and you can do them in any order, but everyone finishes on the 4th. Works really well and the queues are never very long, also adds a bit of strategy into order selection. As for the Mega, enter it....mates and I have entered and are going in July...serious boys road trip
  10. My 2c...I have had both the Pyga OneTen and the Smuggler..now the YT Jeffsy. Smuggler way more Enduro/trail shredder than the Pyga...I ran exact same components on both ...just swopped the frames out...The longer..slacker is way more to my liking..I ran a 140mm Pike instead of a 130mm and had no issues Don't be fooled by the 115mm travel this bike can do impressive things and definitely encouraged me to try stupid things!!
  11. Sorry to say but the SOX Footwear socks are not great. I bought a pair as they are funky looking (Red Mustache), but after 1 ride have got holes in both socks. 1 above the laces on my right foot and 1 in the heel on the left foot. They have also started to fray after a few washes. Pity as I was super keen to add those Orange ones to my pile of kit
  12. Called me this morning. Alarm bells went off instantly. Gonna tell him my price has gone up if he calls back
  13. Thanks, agreed. These rims are 22.5mm ID and so are slightly better than the norm, but I can see they are going to be upgraded in time. My Smuggler has 25mm ID carbon rims on and they are noticeably better, I am seriously considering swapping them over, but would need a new back hub 142 to 148 I do feel that they are the one part on the bike that so easily could have been better, the rest is pretty spot on, even my ass is getting use to the saddle
  14. Jeffsy is here..and it's good. So I have had mine for about a week now, and done 3 rides with it, so below are some initial thoughts. Suspension has taken some fiddling to get right, but quite happy with it now. More forgiving Bike overall quality is really good and well put together. Really easy to assemble out the box, even with converting some parts. Climbing is pretty decent, it's no marathon bike, but pedal bob isn't bad and I ride in Open mode all the time. On the trails/descents it is a machine and is very agile (considering I'm on an XL 29r) It likes to fly, and is the most stable/launch'able bike I have ever ridden, already jumping gaps/ramps on this I had never tried before. If there's a gripe, its the wheels. DT Swiss M1900 Spline, they are supposedly tubeless, but are pinned (not welded) and were an absolute B**&^h to get sealed, but they finally have. (top tip: use super glue to close up the pinned section on the rim internals before putting on the rim tape) So far so good though, attached some pics.
  15. Ordered... Damn the 20th of July seems so far away...
  16. Then I'm not going, I want the JEFFSY dammit
  17. What bikes are you bringing? JEFFSY?
  18. Did this trip a few months back...it is well worth it. The riding is proper technical and certainly not manicured, don't go on your racing hardtail..it will hurt. Kirk who runs Rockslide is a great guy and really enthusiastic about taking people on these adventures. As stated in the article, take your longer travel bikes, kneeguards and expect a day of wild mountainbiking. Will definitely be going back for another trip.
  19. Dialdbikes.co.za R1495 Just saying
  20. The white 110 is the nicest bike there!!! Have to say that, it's mine
  21. I have now got a Pyga 110 due to other crappy products and really crappy service. Yes OMNICO I'm talking about you, for luv, money and certainly for your sanity stay far away from them (GT and Cannondale) because if you have warranty claims through them you will find out just how bad customer service can be. I went mainstream last time around because I always assumed you would struggle with the smaller brands, but have learnt that lesson, so now I ride what excites me.
  22. This looks very interesting, how much? From where? Thanks
  23. So I said in another topic I created that I had built up a Pyga 110, and would post some detail pics. This seems like the better topic to be putting PYGA detailed pics in. So far i've done about 150km's on the bike and am enjoying it.
  24. I dont think they did, when my LBS who are building me the PYGA phoned Coolheat and spoke to their rep he said end of August, and couldn't believe I was getting the stuff this week. As for weights, still in the boxes. So who knows
  25. Just got my box from the courier. 2x11 cranskset (36/26) 11-40 cassette Brakes Shifters R/D Cant wait to fit this stuff, looks hot. Thanks Evobikes, a whole month before Coolheat.
