  1. I don't get it, they had a safety car behind them, and bunched-up so a ypu could do a single take over of all of them. Would you rather prefer them lining up in a 20m row, and then you scream past all of them at 70km/h? You also have the time to waste by #1 taking a picture, #2 logging on the the internet and ranting about it, and finally #3 spending another coupe of hours monitoring this thread with your like minded buddies? But YOU DONT have the time, say +-5min to wait to pass this bunch and safety sweep car? Get a life dude.
  2. Like it. Thank goodness you lost the bar-ends.
  3. Fox.
  4. doh!@#$!@$ the S, M, L and XL mean nothing, its all in the spesific tube lengths....
  5. Uhm... you muppets do know that each brand/model has their own sizing & specifications??? Have a look at the CC fit calculator as a starting point, it will tell you what to look for in terms of different "effective" tube lengths according to your own body, then you compare this to the geometry of the specific frame you want to purchase.... http://www.competitivecyclist.com/Store/catalog/fitCalculatorBike.jsp

    Eina

Wow, that's really a freak accident, very sorry for the lad, can only imagine how peeved the parents must be. Trying to figure out in my mind how it happened, forgetting the part being pushed by another rider just for a second... It looks like the left brake lever into the right leg, so he must have gone over the bars, and fallen on top of the handlebars.... also really bad luck in the way he landed? I have an 11yo son riding, and just wondering if bike size, bike setup, brake lever setup, etc could have helped ??? Or was it all just really a mixture of freakish bad luck about the way he "landed"? (Taking the push from the other order out of it for a sec)
  7. 1. Whatever you do, don't pull the brake levers while the pads are out, it's an easy mistake and can cause the pistons to pop out... 2. Once you have the old pads out, use a screw driver or tool to push both pistons all the way in. 3. you might have to adjust the callipers again to ensure they are nice and center on the new pads 4. you have to bed in the new pads, build up speed, drag the brake for five or six seconds to build heat and then increase lever pressure until the bike stops. Six or seven runs will have the brakes working perfectly. 5. you might have to adjust the brake levers again for reach/point adjustments
  8. Yip, that's how I understood the OP. Pros and cons, a shortening of the Latin expression "pro et contra" (for and against) My response will be in PINK. FOKME, that was a long story... it must be the longest first post for a longtime...if not ever. In any case, IMHO not that many not enough good LBS's around these days. If you hang around in most LBS's, especially the "chain/branded" stores, you see/hear funny business going on.
  9. For R50k - you can buy a really nice Cannondale Scalpel with a Lefty, best weight to rand value and fastest stage race bike. Vipa .....ppppft
  10. Just let it go, I bet he has a small pnus. Karma will get the better of him.
  11. Nice review, ... I'm was hoping to hear how they compare in terms of noise, also how easily they bleed, etc..

    Giant SA

If your Giant cracks in the forest ...and no is around to hear it ... does it make a sound?
  13. That makes sense, but then... do you recon a trade-off between the better concussion protection but probably worse trauma protection vs. a conventional lid?

    Front shock psi

  15. Uhm... stupid question, what's the real improvement over wearing a good/newish tech helmet? If they had to do the same tests, would there be any real benefit?

    Front shock psi

It takes all of 2-3 mount/dismount and a just couple of pumps/releases to set a XC Forks to a 20% sag. It's a 1/5th of the length of the stanchions, it's really not rocket science, you don't need a stupid frikken sticker. You are being an a$$ about this.... going on and on and on... We are trying to help the OP to do it the correct way, and all you are holding onto is a sticker.

    Front shock psi

Stickers only on Rockshox. Real Forks, i.e Lefty or Fox don't come with stickers
  18. How will he eat his pies then?
  19. Ja, and those same cheapskates are the tjommies of the people who download mini series from piratebay, who buy the fake DVD's at the robot, re-bage or un-badge their BMW 316's / 318's, etc etc etc. The list go on and on... For me, it's just *** funny how irate people get when these rip-offs are from their "own industry", but when it comes to things just one or two steps removed from them personally they have no issues at ALL... funny that.
  20. I've had XX's ( sold them to mayhem ), XO trails, X5s, I've had every type of rotor and pad combination on these, I've learnt to bleed, adjust, pamper and accept Avids for what they are, and that is .... inferior to almost all other price/segment comparable options. Bang for buck, SLX or XT cannot be beaten. For the price of a set of pads, labour costs of bleeding, and time wasted in the shop and on the trail, just throw them Avids in the bin. Flame suit on. Edit* can't help myself- maybe you can sell them to someone wanting to build a "SS".
  21. Déjà vu... I'm sure we've had this thread before...idiots, dogs, the spruit....
  22. This thread has really gone to the dogs?
  23. What an a$$hole. Don't worry, KARMA will get him at some stage. He probably also suffers from a small p-nus syndrome.
  24. $h1t - didn't know about him, sounds like a great guy. So I really hope he got a great deal. That is a cool bike.
  25. Don't know "Minister" Alan Winde, he's a nobody to me. I bet if he walked into the shop no one would necessarily recognise him , he would have to gooi a "Do YOU know who I AM?" In any case, I hope he got a good deal?
