  1. must have had a looooong think about it!
  2. Unfortunately I'm one of the twats on the wrong end of the stick!
  3. Lets hope it improves, as we are already buggered for the next few months - I pray for no major failures or breakdowns!
  4. Had a chat to the owner of my LBS. Things are looking rather bleak with the current exchange rate as prices are going to soar! Just thought we should all be aware and know that our upgrades and mods are gonna cost a bit more!
  5. had the whole debate the other day... see the thread below: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/109267-using-non-ust-tyres-for-tubeless/page__st__16__p__1519615__hl__non+ust__fromsearch__1#entry1519615 I'm running conti x king and race king protection tyres which are not UST tyres, but after extensive research, I was told that they are strong enough to withstand the forces of running tubeless. My advice on your merida tyres ... NO no no! I had similar tyres on my merida, and the quality is not that great! As someone once told me...."dont go ghetto!"
  6. My girlfriend and myself live in an area which has a massive area for safe cycling for beginners. However, my gf never makes the effort to even try to get a little fit, so we could both at least enjoy the ride. I have tried the together thing, I have tried the lets wake up with me at 4:30 to ride in the morning, and so it gos on! It shouldn't only come form one side.....give and take!
  7. Eagles - Hotel California! And even better....coming to Sun City (my valley) in March or April!
  8. my point exactly! but we won't stereotype and use the "R" word to classify certain types of cyclists!
  9. Hahahha. Is this thread for real? R20 for open tar with no busses, taxis, idiots driving while talking on cell phones, etc. And you moan!! Hahahahahahahaah! Unreal
  10. Merida agent in capetown if I remember correctly. Ask your lbs who is a merida reseller and they should be able to order for you.
  11. On Saturday, I entered into the Sundown Ranch (15km from Sun City) MTB race and was pleasantly surprised. As it was their first race they had ever put together, I really wasn't expecting much, but the routes were well marked, varied terrain, a few decent climbs, good game viewing and a friendly atmosphere. The field was rather small (approx 30 riders), but the venue has potential. The management/owners are going to start cutting single track into the bush, and are in the process of putting a number of routes together, and are open to suggestions. I would reccommend that fellow mtb hubbers visiting Sun City over December, give them a call and arrnage access. Let me know too, and i'll probabaly join (i'm based at Sun City) Well done to them.
  12. For a second I thought this was a "Tunariaan" thread with the amount of abuse been slung.
  13. The hub is the only place for advice! I was shown how to spend my last tax refund! And how I'm loving that new shock
  14. Well, happy Friday all! Why doesn't the OP just buy a new bike when he gets to his destination! Problem solved!! Thank me later!

  18. Thanks for the info, but I'm not sure how to set the sag etc. Please could you tell me how. Thanks
  19. King crisp has dips on a set of hydraulics which I previously advertised, If he does not want them, i'm willing to depart with them for R800 - they have new pads which I only used for about 30km before I went to XT EDIT: once you use hydraulic, you will never go back! More controlled braking!
  20. Because its part of the fun! I enjoy buying bits and pieces so my ride is unique!
  21. I think i have set my air pressures correctly, and have sued the same theory you are using. I must say that its an awesome fork which has changed my ride compeletely, but I think there must be more to it!
  22. Hi, I've had my Rockhsox SID RLT 120mm for a few months and am enjoying it more than one could imagine. I understand a bit about the settings, but dont feel that i'm using them to their full potential. Could anyone please give me some sound advice? Thanks, Neil
  23. Had the same issue with my new fork! Got a stepped head set, and 1000km odd later, no issues!
  24. Don't use the glue! If it is not dry when you pump/pressurise your tyre again, it can work as lube and your plug shoots out! Leave it dry, and any leaks will be sealed by your sealant!
