  5. there are no words to describe just how much i love this woman
  6. i still rely on Doctor Martin for light-hearted entertainment that isnt full of the horrors of life.
  7. another way to do a venison fillet ( or any venison steak) is to cover in olive oil, Worcestershire sauce and biltong spice. slap it onto very hot coals. sear the outside but leave the inside rare. slice into very thin strips and drizzle a bit of balsamic over. it is a mixture of braai, carpaccio and biltong. makes a beautiful starter...
  8. quick question to the more knowledgeable: can i use a Ryobi table saw to cut railway sleepers, or do they require something a lot stronger?
  9. sounds like marketing to me
  10. for some its a vicious circle rather than a linear thing. So its not a case of eat, get fat, lose confidence. its more a case of lose confidence due to some other issue, eat as a coping mech, get fat, lose more confidence, eat more, get fatter and so on...

    Who remembers?

just reading the thread about fat-shaming. Remember the bumper stickers in the 80's. My fave: "Save the whales. Harpoon a fat chick" Imagine putting that on your car now. you would be sued...

  21. i made a vege chilli last night that i swear is better than any meat chilli i have ever made. been doing one or two meat free days a week for a few months now and am enjoying the challenge of a new form of cooking. the reason for going meat free is we want to be particular about the the quality of meat we eat and this costs money, so good quality meat on some nights and no meat on other nights. rather than **** quality every night...
  22. i am not sure about the 2500 litres per patty. a patty weighs lets say 200g. a cow weighs 800 kg. there fore the patty is .025% of the cows weight. therefore this implies the cow must drink 2500 / .025% = 10 million litres. in its life. doesnt add up
  23. just to give you some background into why i feel quite strongly about this...when my youngest was 15 months we got a rescue dog. he was a beautiful dog. i really liked him, but he was a bit grumpy. one day while i was at work something happened and he got a fright and snapped at her. she ended up with a scar (which she still had 12 years later) running down the side of her face and was about 2 mm away from losing an eye. so when i see a dog doing that it is going to know absolutely that it is not acceptable and it wont be allowed to happen again - no excuses
