start time is 7h15 am . What is a reasonable time to leave jhb? (I am a late sleeper). Its a 90 min drive as far as i know and getting numbers is fairly quick.

Hi Hubbers I dont remember much about this race aside from it being a cold start ... fairly flat ... and lots of wind if you get caught in no mans land . Who is doing this race ?

Was this the bunch of guys on MTB's ? with a couple of roadbikes? If yes then bloody well done... I too spent lots of matchsticks on that last 15kms holding on for dear life... guys were flying like moto GP!

Missed my first AL start ... rode BL also in a 3h20. I think A-bunch would have spat me out very early . An Idiot caused me to go down at the 85 km mark, didnt even bother to stop , left me the A-Hole ... But all good, 100kgs of pure concrete was tough to drag around (lol).

Okay... so In spite of the date change .... Who of Us are going ? I'm In ! First time doing this one after Amashova kicked my @$$ Last year with 2 punctures

Nippy...brrrrr ... froze quite a bit in the start. D bunch was great ...fast after the neutral zone, stayed up front until the bump at the 43 km mark....oooooh...ouch...got dropped and by the time I crested there was a 500m gap . Thanks to Cyclisti(i think that's the name,Grey tops with blue trim)...paced us back to the bunch in no time and we stayed together till about 70 or 80 ks when an 18 wheeler pulled in front of us (stopped the entire bunch). This gave the group a chance to attempt a break as half the guys were trying to clip in.... I burnt many matchsticks holding on for dear life to the end where the last 500 meters was pure hell. out of the saddle for a sprint with legs cramping was rather interesting(lol) ... 2h45 finish for me (stoked)
