  1. What about an Garmin Forerunner 305?
  2. Why not? Edit: Not like they don't deserve it ?
  3. So that makes it OK to profit of someone else's design?
  4. Their website looks simular to the Epic....and now they want to charge Epic prices...."almost"
  5. I am not saying they do...I am saying that next there will be request to ONLY buy local.... I am all for the lowest price....and parallel imports...not FAKE How will we know if something being sold here is fake anyway?
  6. What is next? "don't support CRC!" ?
  7. HOw does it get in the seat tube? There is no way on my bike that anything can get into the seat tube. Where the seatpost meets the frame the seatclame keeps it just about water tight.
  8. The main reason for the gear issue is because of the hole in the seat tube and the bare cable coming out there. Mud and water runs down the FD cable and then causes nice friction on the BB cable guide. So the solution is keep the water and mud of the cable, out the frame or enclose the cables....I took the last option and I hope it helps others. RD cable 1. Take a length of housing. 2. Strip the "outer" so only the inner is left for length of your down tube. (or get yourself a set of Gore cables) 3. Feed housing in from the RD side through the "bb cable guide" and up the down tube, using the old cable as guide or another housing. 4. With the Fork out, you can put the inner into the head badge guide. # Now you have a continues cable housing from the Head badge to the RD. Next time you need to change the cable you take out the fork and guide the new cable in. No mud can get to the cable and hence no reason for replacement more often. Front Derailleur 1. Do the same as above using only the inner of the cable housing. 2. Make sure the inner comes out the hole in the seat tube. 3. Now get one of those rubber boots(used on old V-brakes) and place it over the inner so it covers that hole. #Ninerbikes recommended that you close the hole with tape and then push the cable through.... 4. Make sure the little rubber is VERY tight around the FD cable, and covers the hole properly. 5. If you need to replace the FD cable you do same as above. I know it sound fiddly, but worth it. Ninerbikes are working on a full-housing conversion or something similar.
  9. LL I know that this might solve the problem, but is this not the importer/distributors job? What do they do for then if we have to do this ourselfs?
  10. YIP well said
  11. Age old problem off the customer not being able to chat to the "importer/surplier"....it would be much easier if we could chat to them directly or even better....buy from CWC then they sort you out asap
  12. What I could not understand was why we should drive to the stadium to collect a piece of paper that they could have posted to use? Apparently some people paid for theirs to be posted as some ridiculous price. Besides that I think the ride itself was OK-ish considering the rain.
  13. See a good surgeon and consider a operation..... Edit: Before you damage the nerves beyond repair.....
  14. I think that maybe they should charge the driver/parent for not stapping their kit in?
  15. Do you have the correct amount of spacer between the BB shell and the BB cups/bearings? You get 2 types of shell (i think) one is 68 and a 73....then when you install the BB you should only put the spacers in if you have a 68mm shell....but I am not 100% it is the only thing I can think off. Maybe measure the outside mm of the bearings installed and check if it is correct with the ID of the crank(put together outide the frame) Hope it points you in some direction.... I found this info 68mm Clamp on 2.5mm spacer 2 x 2.5mm spacers 68mm E-type derailleur bracket 2.5mm spacer 2.5mm spacer plus E-type bracket 68mm Chainguide system 2.5mm spacer 2.5mm spacer plus chainguide 73mm Clamp-on No spacer 2.5mm spacer 73mm E-type front derailleur No spacer E-type bracket 73mm Chainguide No Spacer International Standard Chain Guide bracket only More info here http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/external-bearing-crank-systems-hollowtech-ii-megaexo-giga-x-pipe-x-type-campagnolo-ultra-torque
  16. On my commute this morning I noticed that a LOT of people do not wear safety belts and even more important, their kids(or the ones in the car with them) are not wearing seatbelts either. Now I don’t really care if someone decides not to wear one(Darwin’s law will prevail here), BUT at least your passengers that are under age should wear them? Isn't there a law saying that the driver is responsible to ensure that everyone wears a safety belt? (not sure?) Anyway, my question is....does the driver of the car get charged with manslaughter when a kid/people in the car dies and the investigation can show that wearing a safety belt could have saved them? Especially if it is a kid, surely the driver is responsible for that kids life/death?
  17. Apparently the blue / green story does not apply. They say that not all N roads marked in blue are freeways. That is what I was told so don't shoot me :-)
  18. That is what I asked......
  19. I stil do this....find it the safest at some lights when its red for everyone....then I can not be taken out by someone turning left etc while they are busy on their phone.
  20. I wish people were this proactive wrt to ALL road violators...including Seth!
  21. Unfortunately this is a loosing battle, taxis and busses will NEVER obey the rules.... Like I said people mostly target cyclist, not EVERY road user..... One more thing to remember, we all ASSUME that every cyclist out there knows the road rules, how many people do you see riding on the wrong side of the road....because they do not have a license and do not know any better? Maybe this guy really thinks that robots are for cars only? BTW way, with the attitude of cycling CLUBS in SA I think that we are fighting a loosing battle....
  22. I agree with you, but it is still not the drivers problem....The same can be said for kids standing on seats etc...but people dont act the same way as with this cyclist....they will just say "it is not my kid or my problem" So why care about this cyclist? He skips the light, he gets hurt.....the car stops the kids gets hurt....not the drivers problem?
  23. Why do people only care when a cyclist goes through a red light? Cars don't care about a cyclist anyway....they don't give us space on the road, and when I am commuting I see a LOT more cars doing stuff wrong than cyclists BUT I NEVER see a motorist taking a picture of another driver, or confronting the driver like this. I am all for following the rules, but I wish motorist would be consistent and act the same way toward their ALL their fellow road users....that includes pedestrians crossing when the light is Red.
  24. So that creates the tapered look? But is that new from Niner? I have not seen that on their other bikes?
