when we had 2 malamute rescues for a little while we tried to get them to walk off lead a bit. Works after they have exhausted some energy while pulling against the lead. Then again there is a lady who walks her Husky's on the spruit off lead. 3 off them with no issue

yeah. I think it was day two of last years sani we had rain and mud but nothing like what they had yesterday. The worst for me was to still have to come back and wash and fix my bike.
