no you misunderstand. Some are on salaries of between R40-R60. Others have cars etc thrown in. Also remember that most do not only have one sponsor! They have numerous which makes up the numbers. And those numbers are gross not nett.

Agreed. Was going to enter myself for the 3 day and my wife for the 2 day. R1750 for 3 day equates to R583 to race each day. The wife on the 2 day was closer to R600. Dont see the value in that.

YEah i remeber those. The fittest i ever got was when they used to hold the Wednesday night races. Man i miss those days. Bikes were cheaper. It was easier to get fitter and lose weight cause i was younger.

and now days we dont even have club races anymore. Used to be a regular thing here in JHB. Each club would take a turn in holding an event. Flat dogs (Rietvlei), Rock hoppers (Phambili)etc

The system is such a joke. I know of people who are being threatened to be handed over when their account balance is ZERO!!!
