    Attakwas 2012

I think Erik Kleinhans had a crash, don't know how bad it was but he withdrew from the race.
  2. if you don't know everything about your wheels I think it is in your best interest to buy local from your LBS, you can't go in an ask them to explain everything about your wheels and what you need and then order online. So option a) Buy from your LBS, think of the extra you are paying for as the knowledge that they are giving you. B) Buy from CRC, get an in the know cycling buddy to come and look at your wheels so you can buy the correct wheel. c) Buy a 2nd hand wheelset off of thehub, somewhere else. Be prepared for a shorter life-span (not much shorter unless they've been used thoroughly) and you may need to get some small parts replaced, you never know if it's been in a crash exactly like yours and just been straightened as well as possible. Personally, I think you should buy from an LBS, CRC won't be a huge amount cheaper and you still have to pay vat and delivery. You'll also miss out on the chance to better your relationship with the LBS, assuming you bought your bike there, or start a new one if its your 1st purchase at the LBS which will result in discounts further down the line. Hope you're ok and good luck in your quest for a wheelset.
  3. They usually get new bikes every year I think, that's what Pinarello does, the old ones get sent back to Pinarello and they use some of them to study fatigue and auction some.
  4. Our school trailer has this one, it works well too.
  5. down to 10.3 My Roller Coaster and 3passes from last year originally both came in at 6, then in July reseeding they went up to 10, now down to 5 . Not complaining though
  6. Well not really, thats R600 per bike, But thule's top racks will set you back R1200/1500 each! and not sure if 4/5 can fit on a trailer, + you need the roof racks if the trailer doesn't come with them so in comparison it's quite good. Maybe post a pic of how it attaches?
  7. I think ima get me that kit!
  8. On an MTB ride my garmin read 1500m but mapmyride read 850m... I don't know but I think the online and phone apps use the roads and maybe not mtb trails? have no clue other than that and what JKP said.
  9. I went from a cheapie plastic shoe to sidi dragon 2's (for mtb and road) and the difference was huge.
  10. Just thought I'd let you know Not sure you're allowed to? generally if there is a marshall around and they see you mixing in with other groups you will be ejected. ie: If you start in Stars you can't slot in with the U16's, U14's, Masters, Elites group, Womens... Don't know if this applies to PPA groups though?
  11. I mean re-arranged the spacer order x_x...
  12. I'll be doing the 80/72km in any case for the league. Hope it's less windy.
  13. I agree that it's good for commuting or maybe riding in 1's and 2's. But for a full team, such at ctm, to ride in the lane is unethical imo. And Heman, where is it law that if there is a cycling lane a cyclist must use it? Everybody is entitled to make use of the road.
  14. I have sent an e-mail to PPA just re-asking them to delete my result.
  15. Hindsight is a terrible thing.
  16. Think it was about 2hrs.
  17. I asked them to delete it and they said it wouldn't be a problem, I though they could just transfer the results to the shorter ride because they did that with a friend before, but they said they couldn't. I don't see how it harms you if it's been sorted out? I had no intention of cheating when I crossed the mats. Sorry.
  18. I thought they could move my result over to the short event, but they said they couldn't so I asked them if they could just delete it and it shouldn't be a problem.
  19. I did, just not the same one I started From what I saw at the finish line looked like Shan WIlson came 2nd/3rd, didn't see anyone else I knew though.
  20. I got to the top of ou kaapse and my back was killing me. (put my saddle up yesterday, probably too much) Luckily it was just before the short route turn so I just solo-ed with the wind behind me to the finish. So if you see me on top of the results of the long ride in 1h10mins thats what happened
  21. I am so glad I am. Drove over Ou Kaapse this evening and it was hecticly clouded and misty. Scarborough wind was pumping too. Methinks i'll sit in the bunch until boyes
  22. It is a pitty. I for one stop at any red robots, whether the group i'm riding with does or not. I try to stay in the yellow line as much as possible. It only takes a minute to stop at a red robot, it won't hurt you, but if you don't then all cyclists are implicated.
  23. cycling on the roads doesn't seem to be a problem in Europe, where they take 3x3 weeks of road closure around the place, plus various one day events and smaller tours. I think it's because in Europe if you kill a cyclist, it's life in prison. Done, end of discussion.
  24. fixed.
  25. lowered the headset too You should take a spirit level to your seat, it looks very sloped downwards and besides being non-compliant with UCI rules it also puts extra strain on muscles that shouldn't be strained. Apparently.
