  1. I'm sure (not actually) but maybe it has something to do with your metabolism @TinyK, I can take a banana but anything more solid like bread or potatoes cause me to feel sick. I do also wash the gu's down with copious amounts of water though...
  2. If you want to do a 120km fast then you should be doing about 150km at about 70% of max effort (HR/power.) Then like 2 weeks before the race you should do the 120km at race pace... That prepares you more mentally than anything else but will assist with training of course.
  3. Well, All I can say is when doing a (major) long race, (100km in my case) I take 4 powerbar gu's, 1 powerbar, 1 bottle of supplement and one of water. Just make sure that you continuously take nutrition on board. So have a gu on 25km, 50km and 75km, or around those marks and keep the last one in case of a serious bonk. Have the 1/2 bar about 10-20mins after the 1st gu and the second half after 75km. I wash each gu/powerbar bite down with water and then after about another 10/15mins I have a sip of the shake i made... Even if you don't go too fast its vital to take on nutrition. You have to have points at which you take it otherwise you'll forget and then by the time you realise you need it it'll be too late and you'll be yo-yo-ing between hyper and hypoglycemia, and thats not good. my2c.
  4. hmm, that might be cutting it a bit fine to get to school... And in the afternoons what days and time you guys go usually?
  5. What time do you guys get back in the morning? and do you ride every morning at 6?
  6. OPI...
  7. Cannondale are always going to be the 1st to do everything... Everyone else just follows and makes slight adjustments, imo.
  8. So was there another guy with a gopro behind them or was it a motorbike?
  9. I was there on friday looking for some shoes and pedals... I didn't buy them then and I don't have the time to make it to belville in the week. problem was that the shoes and pedals were reflected as out of stock on the site, so i phoned on saturday and ask if they could update it so I could order online... Because it was nearly 3(closing time) they said give them a call on monday and they can put them on the site for me to order. Obviously it would have been nicer to order on saturday but hey, what can I do? Because its quite a big purchase I wanted to use the credit card to get flyer miles and didn't want to do an EFT. So they said no problem. Some certain other bike shops would've said sure we'll phone you back, and just left you in the dark.
  10. oooh, and Woodkid by Iron is my pumping up song. Saw it on the Assassins Creed Revelations trailer and it was just insane. Use it before a race for running/rowing/cycling.
  11. I don't listen to music on the road or the mountain but on the IDT I do and it does help a lot. Read somewhere that it shuts off the brains ability to tell you that you're hurting, my IDT sessions collaborate with that, anyhow... I use the genius app on Itunes and make playlists that are very heavy, that way I lose concentration of everything going on a round me and can just pedal. Will give the list of artists tomorrow when I find my Ipod
  12. I was thinking about something similar about two weeks ago. Of course I cant share the design in case it is stolen
  13. Wellllllllllll... Its up to you as they probably balance each other out. Take customer service into account too.

    Garmin 705

Ok, i had the same problem... firstly, it would help to read the manuel. Anyhow, go to settings---->bike settings---->data fields----> then enter for amount of displays, then enter on each specific display to change it, then enter on the one you want and voila. done.
  15. prices of each?
  16. hmmmm, that might be pushing the boundaries just a tad.
  17. Well thinking AC is great, because they're amazing and relatively well priced. I've got the C58's and the bearings are amazingly smooth and they also ride very well. They are however, a bit on the heavy side at 1,8kg's i think. (excl. tyres & cassete.) Not sure about the 420's...
  18. some of the other bikes are even 2010.
  19. theres another thread on this vid already.
  20. OP is original post/er. Mine would be under 10k excluding a head unit but its for a road bike...
  21. I might have one for sale soonish. I'd say that the rearhub ones (PT) are the easiest and cheapest for people who may have 2 bikes. The pedals would be easier, but the cranks much harder. How much are you looking at spending? Edit: I didn't see that you were the OP... Mines for a road bike.
  22. From what I've read the SL4 is going to be very good. But according to Bicycling the C'Dale Evo is the same just better, and it is aimed "squarely at the crotch of specialized new SL4" besides, being that stiff may make for an uncomfortable ride.
  23. Aren't Garmin vector's only supposed to be R7k? I've heard Polar are also coming out with one but I think the guy was confused between garmin and polar.
  24. Well, I can't say I didn't laugh, but imagine that were you, how painful it must be...
