Was a cool-ish ride. Been on antibiotics for the last 2 weeks so it was a bit of a shock with the fastish start and the hill, even though, to be honest it was hardly even a hill. Had to ride 64km with 3 others... But the season has started, amped for the league events next weekend . regarding the roads, It made the ride that much more interesting, otherwise it would have been a bore.

The 1st race of the season is never going to be good. But this is a bit of a dull ride, in comparison to the Cape Cobra.

You can't say they haven;t been successful, just haven;t done amazingly but still very well. What about Daryll Impey, riding for that german team.

But they look cool They're also a bit more affordable than the zipps... And their bearings are amazing. Wouldn't say they are quite as busy, but busy nonetheless.

I don't know about you guys, but when I take a gu I squeeze out every last drop. And so i don't mind if its in my pocket cos there's nothing left to be messy.

Go with the American classics C58 :thumbup: Look awesome. Otherwise stick with what you've got on now.

So you bought the bike for 21k and then added xx and ritchey stuff. Coz xx is like R18k by itself. So the actual bike, + xx and ritchey wcs stuff was? Unless you bought the frame separately, then it makes sense. If you don't have wheels, or a shock...

I'm riding a 53/17 atm. It completely kills your top speed. Can only go, at a complete maximum, 70km/h. At the oyster festival this year, coming down the last hill, i was pedaling at 117r/pm just to stick with the group. The previous year, on a training ride, i free-wheeled down at 85km/h. Go with Madone's ratio.

The litter should not be that hard to enforce, just a small game of telling-on one another. As for road closures, i'm sure you're aware that it can be quite pricey, maybe if only as you said, 1000cyclists entered, (not sure, true or not, but i assume it is) then the D2D organizers might not have been able to afford to pay the traffic department. Could have simply been out of their budget. Saying that, I wasn't there and i don't know how bad it was.

Hey guys, I've got a Sram Force crankset and when I looked at the league gear restrictions i noticed i needed a 52/17. Now i've already got hold of the rear cassete but my front chainring is a 53. Will an ultegra/105 front chainring fit onto a Sram crank arm? Cheers

You have to give some kind of clues as to what you want... Coz there are 1000's of mtb's that price.

I've had 2 walks to the finish, one from the top of the mast at tokai down to the bottom. the other time i just rode on the flat and cut the sidewall completely. I'd say it's probably worth it.

Cyclelab Northgate Island in CT have recently started stocking Giants and Cannondales.

there will be i'm sure. Maybe if cyclelab don't have, was at northgate today and didn't see any, you can try JOC cycles. They don't usually have bikes on the cheaper side though...

I have no issues with people riding in pro-kit, although in my opinion, if they're wearing a complete kit then they're a little bit of a poser. What I find funny, sometimes annoying, is when you see a guy on a specialized wearing a Trek top or something like that. I know they can wear whatever they want. Thats just what gets me.
