  1. There's a shop in sedgefield (cycleworx), they ride mtb on Monday,Wednesday and road on Tuesday,Thursday. They go at a relaxed pace and not too far either. Here's their schedule for the next few days, they start at 7:00. Monday 12.12.2011 - mountain bike ride over the Hoogekraal loop (2½ hrs) Tuesday 13.12.2011 - road bike ride Barrington and back (2 hrs) Wednesday 14.12.2011 - mountain bike ride flat route to Wilderness and back (2½ hrs) Thursday 15.12.2011 - road bike ride Karatara and back (2 hrs) If you think sedge is a bit far i'm sure the knysna shops ride and you can check their websites. There's also the harkerville forest a few km's outside of knysna, amazing riding, 25km course
  2. Think this was meant for the "lightest 29er in SA" thread?
  3. C'dale have stopped making a carbon flash 26er Mine is at 8.4kg (normal wheels instead of carbon) and i'm sure its nicer than that, even if it is a kilo more.
  4. Aren't XTR and Dura-ace chains the same? I had an Dura-ace 10spd chain on my bike and it said on the chain xtr/dura-ace. Maybe an older chain?
  5. I had Sidi dragon 2's with shimano M520 cleats on the mtb and ryder cleats on my road bike. 2 months ago I "upgraded" to the look keo 2 max's and got a pair of ergo 3's. I could immediately feel the difference in contact area and my power testing showed an increase by 7% over a 15km TT on the IDT. It took a while to get used to but it made a huge difference, especially in my sprinting. But, it might also pay to get some XTR pedals as they have a big contact area as well and then you don't need to get a pair of road shoes. Rather get some dragon 3's and XTR pedals for your road and mtb, they make a HUGE difference.
  6. Edge 500/800
  7. It means that CSA contacted your club (whoever it may be) and your club either didn't reply to them, Or your club said that they have no idea who you are/you are not registered with them/you have not payed your annual fees/etc...
  8. Frame comes 1st, it should, if it is an upgrade, (possibly be carbon) and so should be lighter and have a better power transfer. And power is everything
  9. So hopefully it'll stay on 0 forever and ever My rides are almost all from summer this year, got 2 mtb events from june/july and another road in July. But hey, I've got my B number already and i'm not going to trade it in to downgrade so I'll have it until next season
  10. I find that I can't eat anything solid while riding. Banana is the limit, anything other than that and it comes up again in the next few mins. I stick to Hammer and Powerbar gel's and powerbar bars. Only take water on most races to wash it down, because gels are gross.
  11. I thought I'd drop to C this month but my hillclimb kept me up My die Burger is nowhere near to my seeding But...My Die burger mtb challenge is still seeded at 0.00 with a beta of 0.87 for the 30km, system is wack.

    99'er 2012

ooh, didn't enjoy this one this year Had a mechanical on the long so I turned and got it sorted, (now 40km of riding done) Had to TT back in the hope of starting with the 1st bunch of the short route but missed it by a lot. Started in the second last of the 64km, solo-ed the 1st 45km at 40km/h with the wind. Turned into the wind. Died
  14. hmmm, was thinking about the scale So was the 29er a FS? and was the course varied between open roads and single track and other terrains?
  15. Was the giant also a HT? Of similar spec?
  16. Looks like Sram orange, just saying.
  17. http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/pro-bike-jeremiah-bishops-cannondale-flash-carbon-29er-32052/
  18. Cannondale got an ultimate 29er with a SRM power meter down to 8.23kg's, could probably go down to 8kg. But, that has a proper shock...well half a proper shock at least.
  19. Well, If you think about it, they've just spent massive amounts on these bikes for most of their gyms (like flymango said) and unless they've kept the old ones there isn't much they can do... They can't return them because the customers don't like them, can they?
  20. My gym still has the old 'nice' bikes. In Gardens, CT, so for the CT guys there is hope.
  21. That isn't the brightest thing to do, especially if you're a doctor...
  22. SRAM  It does get temperamental at times, but thats mainly the mtb stuff. The shifts are shorter and it feels more intuitive, for me. I can strongly advise.
  23. Yup, honestly, for R25k you get a great frame, great fork, don't know how used the components are but XX, what more can you want?? Good wheels too! All round great bike at a great price. I say go for it.
  24. Just their responses to my queries. As you well know some shops/distributers rarely reply to e-mails and it's a mission to get hold of them. Apparently they are bringing their product to SA in the near future with one dealer and an online shop.
  25. I got it right
