I've heard that the merida 29er for that price is amazing, good handling and it feels pretty light too. Just a friends recommendation, not my opinion, haven't ever ridden one. Have no relations with merida either.

Just on the topic of races joining courses. At the Die Burger MTB race, the 30km route doubles back on itself in a narrow little area. Now I was in 3rd place and the 2nd last group were coming my way... I knew the course from the previous year and that it did this but really. To send people straight into oncoming traffic isn't a good idea, even if it was only 200m. Scary stuff, nearly crashed twice, also received abuse for "going the wrong way!"

I did a 100km ride with a stem that was 30mm too long and it hurt like a @#^%. After changing it it was fine though, the measurements from the site will help you, but it won't be 100% to your liking, like TinyK said, you'll just have to tweak some things.

I think its a bit dodgy on a mtb trail, especially if you get the leaders of the long route joining up with the short route and mixing with the uni's... But on the road you can easily avoid them.

Ya, I ordered a small package from CRC and it took a month to get here, they say it takes 3 weeks max. After 3 weeks i e-mailed them and informed them of the issue. Anyway next week the parcel arrives at my door, the week after that the next parcel arrives :clap:
