  1. Adamo Road Saddle. They were first used as tri and tt saddles, but more and more road and track cyclists are using these as they are the next big thing saddle wise. They are designed to accomodate both male and female physiology and are very good at taking pressure off of everything except the sitting bones. My wife has one on her Cervelo road bike and I have one on both my road and tt bikes. They are not the lightest saddles, but comfort wise great and when it comes to getting into a nice low position on the drops there is no saddle that will come close. I would recommend you get a demo saddle from your nearest dealer and ride it for a few weeks.
  2. I eventually ordered from a place in Germany. Must just find the email again. Be careful what you buy though as mentioned above the mountain one I started out with is hard, but all of them are fantastic to keep one more entertained and prevent you from getting bored and a sore butt.
  3. If you were forced to spend money on buying what you would consider to be the Ultimate Thoroughbred Marathon Hardtail Racing Machine, what would you buy and with what specs? Bike must be for you, so it would be interesting to see your height and weight here too.
  4. If I were you I would try and find out where he is selling it. Meet the guy in your cycling kit and when the bike comes out put a few bullets in him and when cops arrive tell them he tried hijack you.
  5. Here is a pic of the frame I am thinking of getting. Seen nothing like it in SA. Only the black ones here. This is a beauty!
  6. No, I have a mate in USA who sells these things 2nd hand and he camer across a beaut for me that the guy is flogging. They always have too much money and want the latest and greatest each year.
  7. I bought a brake cable today!
  8. Anyone own one of these and give any advice on the product. Can get a frame for about R10k in practically new condition. Is that a good deal? I know road bikes, but not MTB and want to get a nice rig I am not going to have to upgrade.
  9. Probably not because I use a Powertap and the theory behind it is solid.
  10. You sound like you are from the eastern cape? Service there is really bad.
  11. Don't forget I pay your salary. So I am the one who is allowed to ask this. Hehe
  12. Thanks for all the advice guys. I do not believe cadence or intensity will be a factor at all. Raced enough in Europe on their crit cobbled courses puffing smoke at the rear to know that nothing will EVER be harder than that. For interest, what kind of cadences you talking about. Roadies don't ride low cadences. My TT cadence is 95-97RPM.
  13. Shouldn't you be working and not on the HUB?
  14. Hi Any response to any of my questions. I will take your continued silence as either one of two: 1. Don't know and therefore you may be right and product is less accurate than HR training products. 2. Avoiding answering your questions because you are right and this product is less accurate than HR training products. 3. The funds made by Power Balance Bracelets were used to develop this product.
  15. And apparently 20k can get me a very competitive rig?
  16. Anyone out there? So far info from local boys are that I am looking for a hardtail 29er to do marathon type events. You agree?
  17. Careful of getting a call from a lawyer informing you to appear for deformation of character charges.
  18. Hi Have a look around for some Mavic Kysriums or Campy Shamal Ultra. You can get some very good deals on 2nd hand wheel and they normally retail for about R9000-R16000 depending on the model. I picked up a set of Kysrium SL premiums with ceramic bearings for R3300 in very good nick a few months ago for the wife. I would recommend this kind of deal as you are getting a very good solid strong and fast/stiff wheel for a fraction of the price. Good for racing and last you ages. My Shamals took me through an entire season of cobblestone racing in Germany one year and never broke a spoke or ran untrue. I was 75kg then so with that will last you well on a 95kg ride on normal road.
  19. Hi MArtin Did all really, but TT were I was best. I came from a tri background. Mentioning it here as I see MTB to be much more of an individual event than a bunch ride. So the roadies/mtb guys will be able to put this in context as to my strengths.
  20. Hi Guys This is mostly a question for the more elite MTB guys. I am thinking of trying my hand at some MTB. From a performance point of view I would probably fall into the more elite category as this is where I left off with my road racing. Would just need to get my skills sorted out. My strength lies in TT on the road and I would typically ride a 40km TT in anything sub 57min when generally fit, peaking around 55min. Never been a great climber. So my questions to you guys are: 1. What type of events should I look at trying out, i.e. marathon, cross country, etc? 2. What type of bike should I be looking at getting for this type of racing, i.e. hardtail, dual? 3. What kind fo price should I be expecting to get a bike for an elite level of racing to be on average with the rest of the bikes in this category. Bike does make a difference as I have seen on road? 4. What would be best for this type of rding from a 26er vs. 29er point of view? Thanks up front! The Break
  21. This totally contradicts things. If the power values are based on HR then how on earth can it be for the recreational rider who feels that HR is not sufficient. He will end up with a less accurate training aid than just using HR alone. I have still to see how this product is more accurate than HR and you are avoiding my questions. Is it because I am correct? Would love to hear as if you are going to marekt the product in an open forum you should be willing to answer ALL questions that come your way.
  22. Now that is funny! As a point if I see a guy rock up with TT bars I make sure I stay in front of him unless he rides on the brakes permanently.
