  1. Yeah, easy for us armchair experts to pass commentary, in fact Gerald mentioned that for many it’s daily management of effort so to walk today means more energy to tackle tomorrow. The lack of skills for the singles is another story but maybe people are so scared of a race ending fall?
  2. Probably mentioned on another thread Clint Elliot at CE Cycles in Tokai - great mechanic and equally great guy as well!
  3. Ah okay! Definitely well priced
  4. I also did the RVR last year, was a nice event , all be it a bit of a small one . The time of year also makes it “safer” weather wise .
  5. Anyone here done this event?
  6. Well done on your results. We chatted on the forum same time last year around your improvements in LY’s race and now you’ve gone even better , At LY’s weight we’re about similar, don’t think i can get to around 91kg- perhaps I can with some real focus, My seeding took a hit this year as I didn’t do enough races and had a race ending mechanical in the winelands tour to boot. That being said, I missed this year’s event due to work travel, a pity as conditions were prime and i reckon so was my prep.
  7. How do these last minute entries work? Can one do a late sub at the expo? Thought not, so are these people riding with other people’s numbers?
  8. Really special, a mate of mine has been doing the buggy for years , really touching to see the enjoyment on the kids’ faces .
  9. 😳 might change thing! Typical Cape Town style
  10. Yes, I may well do a long ride on Saturday and submit as the ride, will look into that tomorrow as I have entered and did not get a chance to release entry due to late notice of my travel,
  11. Shoo, serious FOMO is only increasing , I have a last minute business trip that will result in me missing this year’s event, as luck would have it, the conditions will probably be perfect! Enjoy all!
  12. Likewise, unknown calls are not answered and verified via truecaller afterwards. If it's important they will leave a message or email me me (if it's work related)
  13. I think it's too late to sell an entry at this stage - I stand corrected though..
  14. Like all brands be sure what level in the range you are looking at as this might present diverse opinions
  15. You need a functioning SAPS to benefit from the features
  16. not understanding - the start groups are there? with all recent results as well
  17. I saw yours http://www.racetec.co.za/featured/
  18. The start times indeed are there
  19. Yip, says me on my non boost MTB (PYGA) and rim brake super roadie
  20. Looks like the Tour De PPA is a waste then
  21. Looks like a general drop, truth be told I have not done a seeding event in a while and am now paying for it. Those that did the Winelands must have had a nice bump? I was in F (DNF due to a mechanical) and am now in J!
  22. Sometimes we have an unrealistic expectation that our heroes or those we admire in sport are also nice people or possess a moral compass that aligns to what “being lekker” is. This is often not the case, Ryan Giggs comes to mind and we can name so many others . The spotlight magnifies and we are all human and no I’m not at all justifying or turning a blind eye to his past transgressions which hopefully he has learnt from .
  23. Yeah, it can be a bit if a rabbit hole. I too use a Topeak digital gauge which has been my go to for years, in fact the gauge on my Lezyne floor pump doesn’t even work! A while ago I “calibrated” the Topeak against my motorbike mechanics pump which he swore was accurate so that was my reference ever since . The Topeak was under reading by 20% !
  24. I agree in the point around gauge accuracy, keen to hear how you ensure that a given gauge is accurate?
  25. For number collection: Where exactly is the Cavendish Square centre court?
