  1. I had to probe numerous times to get feedback on progress to be honest, but once the ball was rolling, things moved quickly.
  2. Yeah, they were well looked after, so did not see the benefit of losing out on them
  3. thought I would share my experience with Assos. Had two pairs of Equipe shorts where the padding was starting to fray / tear. I took a chance and contacted them, they asked for some pics of both the padding and lycra to establish general condition of the shorts (which is good). Long story short - I sent the items to them (at my cost) and they were repaired and couriered back to me (DHL express) at their expense at a cost of $80 for the two. They were sent by a friend in the UK (cost to ship from SA to Switzerland is crazy) on the 22nd July and I received them today! All in all a great outcome, considering that I bought them in 2016.
  4. Sounds like I maybe dodged a bullet by not riding, spoke to some people who noted that today was a day for a MTB as well Hopefully next year these events won’t be muddy 🤞
  5. I recall another hubber sharing an encounter with a blue golf somewhere in Southfield a while ago

  12. Likewise with a bit of oil
  13. Road or MTB? i found the my trainer bike chain got about 400+
  14. YMMV, I reckon 100kmnis really worse case scenario or had that been your general experience @dasilvarsa i actually made some lube as well, works well, similar to rocknroll
  15. my ratio is about 10% Paraffin oil to wax, I actually added a bit more wax a few weeks ago. I suspect the chain needs to remain in until it cools. It didn't have that "stiff" feel to it dried completely
  16. Guys, did 70km today on a newly waxed chain and near end of ride, chain was not as silent as I'd like it, reckon I need to add some wax to my mixture? OR should I leave chain in pot while the wax cools? I am thinking probably both?
  17. Scam, and wants collection in the Phillipi area which is dodge

  20. Some sound advice and good questions to ponder there! Budget is around R17k thereabouts, You're right my current wheels are great... Have no intention of changing to disk anytime soon was thinking of aero benefits / improved rolling I am eyeing the darkhorse 38/50 combo
  21. Thanks for this, thoughts on Darkhorse?
  22. Recommended profile for Cape Town riding?
  23. Eish guys need someone to talk me out of it!🤔 Worthwhile upgrade considering my current set up?
  24. Hi All I have a small itch that I am not sure I want to scratch. I am contemplating changing my wheelset to a carbon set with a deeper profile. My bike currently has a set of Mavic R Sys wheels which have given me great service for the 7 or years that I have had them - they are quite light and stiff. Should I bite the bullet and go down this route? Will need to be for a rim brakes and I would prefer to stay with tubes for now. Or should I just ignore this itch and move on ! I have scouted a few options 2nd hand in the classifieds already
