  1. This would be my requirement as well + a fan
  2. with whom are yo insured for interest sake?
  3. Aliexpress will be a great option. If you cannot wait, check out Kean Bikes
  4. Yes, I recall that, hence the question. GLWS
  5. eish, you get a warranty? Recall you getting this bike a while ago?
  6. I'm on my second stages unit. It recently starting dropping out. I took it to Omnico who then asked for some files as proof. Files provided only to receive feedback that the zeros are happening when I'm not moving. Yes that was the actual feedback despite provide data supporting the fact that it was happening whilst pedalling. LOL I have it back and will monitor The international guys are very helpful though.
  7. The Snap is rated at 2% The slippages - doesn't happen that often - I have only experienced some slippage on steep inclines at high power, can be addressed with your set up though I have used a normal tyre in the past with no issue - and a dedicated wheel sorts this - I see OP says he has a dedicated bike already One issue would be the need for calibration though that can be a bit tedious but I guess this can be factored into your work out. I have found the ride feel on the snap to be alot better than my Tacx flow All comes down to cost and what you are prepared to do to make the set up work I guess.
  8. Yeah, I am on 9000km on my Powertap pedals
  9. What's the issue with wheel on trainers?
  10. Yeah, I had a Tacx Flow for many years and it's solid performer. As mentioned there are a few good buys at present, especially that Snap - that looks almost new for R4500... I am using Fulgaz at present and the routes are also great
  11. nothing wrong with a good smart wheel on trainer - the Saris comes to mind as well as the Kickr Snap. The outlay difference between and a direct and wheel on is something you need to decide upon in terms of palatability. I see a few on the classifieds at present - Cores, Flux and a Snap (for R4500) - which I think is a great deal. The accuracy of the snap is also quite good at 2% Disclaimer - I have a snap and I am very happy with it. You just need a dedicated trainer wheel and cassette
  12. Thought I'd share a positive experience whilst out riding today... I was on side of the road about to fix a puncture when a fellow cyclist (gentleman by the name of Mario)stopped to enquire if all was good. I assured him that it was and explained that I had a puncture (my second for the morning!) He then insisted that he assist in changing the tube explaining that he works at Complete Cyclist in Hout Bay so it was no bother. A really great guy, he must be a real asset at the bike shop as well. My faith in reality restored!
  13. well done for raising this Hairy What about newbies coming across the hub and being dooped into overpaying etc. As was mentioned, the comments were there to protect both seller and buyer
  14. on another note, that will make for a very twitchy steering!
  15. I got some lekker Troy Lee Design mtb shorts a while ago. Landed price was still cheaper than what I could get here. Sometimes you get bargains even on clothing.
  16. Helmet is classified as clothing. So factor in a massive duty, I stand corrected but I think minimum 30% + VAT at 15%. Clothing items seldom worthwhile buying unless the price is dirt cheap.
  17. Quite random in posts and https://www.instagram.com/p/CeqZzcioN9d/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  18. As the man said.. Bigger at back and compact is your best bet
  19. Yes, I reckon safer navigating the bike lanes and pavements vs. filtering on wet roads (on slippery lines as well)
  20. and that is why we buy from abroad!
  21. How much time are you looking to save? My commute to the office via bicycle is roughly double that of my motorcycle (then need to factor in shower etc.) the fitness benefit is a no brainer though. In rainy weather I would also be more prone to using my bicycle as opposed to riding the motorcycle in rain.
  22. Looks nifty. I assume it's comfortable as well. But just another thing that needs to be charged!
  23. I assume you are loading a range for the specified wattage? I.e. Say 80 - 95% of FTP? Most platforms will therefore default to the the midpoint. So if 85% - 90% is 80 to 100W, the resistance will be set to 90W. Not really an issue if you ask me.
  24. I believe the edge 530 has the ability to change both the layout as well as the number of metrics on a screen. Check YouTube.
