    Sailing

Sailing isn't a spectator friendly sport, that's why it is going under. Doesn't matter how much you jig it, it's true. Enough doom and gloom from here aft, I'm returning to port.

  13. If you decide to carry a knife it is advisable to receive training in how to use it effectively. There are a few good self-defence systems for which training is available in the Cape Town Area. Just remember that the moment that you pull a knife you are committing yourself to using it. Threatening your average Cape Skollie with a knife will only aggravate the situation and talking yourself out of it will not work. You will get hurt! Remember that at some stage the law enforcement sector will come into play when either you or the perpetrator reports it to the police. Even if you were the original victim it may count against you if you do not report it incident first. The moment you cut a person it is ‘assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm’. You will spend time in a police cell (before you are released on bail)... The moment the cut is anywhere near an artery or you stab the person near, or in any of the mayor organs it will be a case of attempted murder. You will spend a lot of time in police station cell before going to court... The best would be: Learn how to identify problem individuals/ areas and avoid them/ it Train yourself to be adaptable and depart from your route if need be Keep your eyes open If you do decide to carry a weapon, be it a knife, pepper spray, baton, Tongfa, Escrima Sticks, Tazer, Billy Club, Bo or even Ball Breakers, learn how to use it effectively.
  14. Lay -buy and by the time you paid for it, something else will have taken your fancy. Taking out a personal loan and you will pay and pay and pay... Open up one of those 30- day- notice- bank- accounts and save and earn interest. This will also save you from any impulsive buys. Not only will you be able to buy the best for your money but you can negotiate with cash in your hand. Think about it

  17. this past year "the hub" has become my favorite site to visit. To all those who contribute and make it amazing; thank you. To those responsible for the upkeep and management plus the sponsors; thank you. I will be off planet for the next 2 weeks: so happy Christmas to all and enjoy the new year. May the Force be with everyone.
  18. "Like the Zulu who infiltrates from the inside, the state of the endurance nation is moving back towards the positive, but not through traditional media channels or through the seemingly “not normal” performances of the heads of state." Please explain this statement to me. How do you infiltrate a organisation from the inside: double agent? Which Zulu in what legend do this individual refer to? Endurance nation? Heads of state, Huh? .... éll, nothing in this statement makes sense! But then again: I'm just a poor country boy with a poor educashun.
  19. Oy Captain, my Captain, your mantyhose is pantyhose! People are gong back to basics when it come to cycling, well, some are and others not. The whole article without the tripe. sort of
  20. I had no other intention than to relay a funny story. I am a cycling commuter by large and cannot really comprehend this infighting between roadies and mtbikers. At first I thought it was good natured "banter" between cyclists, but then I realized some people do tend to get worked up about it. I realize that this also extents to clothing. Now, this is my official stand on clothing. Wear anything you like when cycling But please be considerate to those around you, not all may be as open minded or liberal regarding your choice of attire. Especially when visible public hair and genitalia comes to mind. Amen
  21. Robox, do you feel better (now) getting it all off your chest?
