  1. http://www.produx.co.za/ But the long term solution is to lose some weight.
  2. Ha ha Ha chubba, just because i posted that you liked that dude's legs!! To add to Chubba's post though, Action and Revolution have far more good days, While JOC and Bowmans seem to have mostly bad days!
  3. Adri aka the Professor, he advertises on the hub, does a great service - in fact bike never felt so good after he serviced it.
  4. Check here for Conti MK's. Seated really easy on my new tubeless rimjob http://www.easybike.co.za/tyres/mtb-26/continental-mountain-king-protection-2-2.html
  5. I got the 'protection' version, so hopefully that will help with puncture protection, but it may just be a thicker side wall - not too sure.
  6. I got a mountain king from easy bike, put it on over the weekend - what a great tire! Granted I had a Larsen TT 2.1 on the front before that, but i really noticed the difference.

    Eina!

Chubba just tuned me that except for the scars, you got nice calves. Ja, i told him thats a bit gay.
  8. 2g per kg is the ratio that bodybuilers use. I went through a silly stage myself and spent too much time in pushing metal. I used to use a mix of protein shake, eggs, beans, chicken, and red meat - spread out over a day. I can assure you taking in 180 - 190 grams of protein is not fun! I'm pretty sure this is waaaay too much for endurance sport!
  9. My trick, it may help you as well, is to count rotations. e.g. up a tough climb i'll do 50 rotations seated, then if I'm forced to stand, I'll limit myself to 50 rotations standing, and then switch back to seated. This will instantly reduce your standing from 80 % to 50 %.
  10. Thanks again for the advice Johan, i'll use a pin punch (if i can find one). but i think you mean what ever floats you 'float'.
  11. The 'socket' idea sounds like a winner! This is how i assumed the pros do it. (Then again i learnt a long time ago not to assume much!)
  12. Thanks for the advice, it is for the suspension, where the suspension meets the frame, not sure if that makes any difference. But from What Johan says, it seems as if that would apply to inserting all bearings. I'm buying the bearings tomorrow and will try this then. Thanks again for the tips.
  13. Any help would be appreciated, i have removed four bearings from my bike, i have sourced new bearings (correct size) from Bearing Man. Will i be able to put these back myself, or should i go to a bike shop? I don't have a bearing press, would i need one? Thank!
  14. Try Rapid Sports as well. They are usually well priced and the quality of their stuff is great.
  15. Today i got a 12. On my full-suss.
  16. Since 11 June 2011: 35 rides, 800km 50 hours.
  17. I think i missed something here. What upset MJ so much? I never saw anything offensive.
  18. One important factor that the other guys are missing - does the cheapie come with a bladder??? If not, this is an important factor. Another thing is the deuter bladder is identical to the one i bought at sportsmans wharehouse for about R100. Another very good 'cheaper' bag is the k-way bag for R250 - although this does not include the bladder. That said i have a camelback and i love it! The North Face is also a very good product.
  19. Looking good!
  20. Wise words from 'R2D2 7' above. I question how many iron man events the other posters have done. I reckon you should call the sports science institute and get some expert advice. Y
  21. I had a Fuel Teamline road bike stolen out my garage recently, if it shows up please let me know. Neil - how much for the purple bike?
  22. Sell the old bike and buy the new one! You'll save cash!
  23. Thanks for the info, will def ride it on the weekend, I've been riding there recently but will now look out for the right turn-off.
  24. I'm not sure where the new trail is, any chance of someone giving me directions. A brief description of the trail would be great as well. e.g. what to look out for, how many drop-offs and how high, how many jumps, is there a rocky section i should be afraid of, should i speed up/slow down at any particular section, should i or should i not use my rear brake to drag my rear wheel, can i ride up and down, how fast should i attept to ride the trail. But directions would be really appreciated.
  25. Sorry to hear about what happened. I noticed on my way to work this morning from the Cape Town train station that there was a suspicious looking character riding a full suspension Giant, silver/black/grey. Was your son's bike a full suspesion? Cheers HAHAH - that might have been me...
