    2012 94.7

WHAT? I am riding a qhubeka buffalo, 42 x 20 gearing and 25kg's need 2 different spanners and 1 star screw driver to change the back wheel
  4. After some consulting with rouxtjie it seems buffalo quest 70km is on
  5. That should be double gulp for you, I am lighter ha ha
  6. Yesterday going down a hill Kerry said your supposed to be practicing the back pedal for 94.7 on the downhills. I told her I had been the whole way down
  7. whats the worst we walk the big uphills (from the bottom) and walk the technical downhills. The rest we can ride. So that leaves about 5km of riding ha ha. Just remember it's a fixie
  8. Ave 10km/r and we make it in 7hrs not too bad hey. Just hope they keep some spike bombs for us cause we will deserve a truck load of them
  9. Email has been sent. You may get to ride the red coca cola one ha ha. Just wear hiking shoes and we are sorted...... You know I may have to try beat the GF on her new bike........ Ok I don't want to spoil the years supply of brownie points I built up, but if the real tortoise is there then we have to beat her......... Would just be wrong not to.
  10. Let me send an email about getting another bike................ You gonna regret this but anyway we can pack lots of food and beer
  11. I will try pop round for you to take a test drive. It will end up 60km or walking 10km riding ha ha
  12. @rouxtjie I can arrange another yellow monster and we can ride the quest together :-)
  13. I think I should have come round last night to let you ride the yellow monster. By the way i did take it on some dirt last night. Sketchy.... I can buy another Manitou fork just like mine but 80mm for R1999 brand new, trouble is it is RED..........So I could re-build the Merida. I am going for the Trek. Supposed to handle well in the single track and never gotten my hands on it before. Was thinking to ride it now before the GF starts to build it into her SS bike....
  14. I will start with the Merida, failing that I will move onto the Trek, failing that I will go the Gary Fisher and lastly the Yellow.... Not my bike anyway and I was supposed to hand it back after 94.7, but hey I heard it may want to do a criticalmass ride. Imagine what we could load on the back of that bike............
  15. Saving that for 94.7.... I weighed it. 25kg's with a 42x20 gearing. Takes 2 different spanners and a star screw driver to take the back wheel off to change the tube.....
  16. So the Merida which I was hoping to ride has no fork. I wanted to put the Green fork from the Trek on but I think the steerer may be too short..... That would be the prize for the quest. I could build the Trek up (the GF's old bike) and use that. I also have a White fisher frame which I may make into an SS bike. And yes thats the yellow monster. After testing it on some dirt yesterday it is far from VG fit. The handling was not made for VG rocks and decents ha ha.
  17. I should hope I can with gears ha ha, else I should give up and just drink beer....
  18. Not sure of the weight but the frame was 800g heavier then her Trek, but we changed 2 components so far which were 150g lighter so we just need to find another 650g and she is back the the trek weight
  19. Thats if I get to ride it again to put it through it's paces at VG. I have a feeling once she gets on it I will not be allowed again.
  20. The reason my geared bike is out of order. The GF needed a 100mm fork for her new bike. Well worth lending her mine
  21. Thanx very much for the advice. Orbit CE plus headset installed. Bike is ready to roll. Took it for a quick spin before the GF gets her hands on it. Very very smooth over the rough stuff
  22. Ha ha was hoping to better my time using some gears which would give me more time for beers afterwards ????
  23. I was not planning a 2nd VG SS 70km ride in 1 month
  24. Going to be a sufferfest of note. Seems like both my bikes are out of order. Geared and SS. So i may just quickly build an old Trek with gears or an old Gary Fisher SS. Starting to wish i had entered 35km ha ha
  25. Hand made in china
