  1. We can sort this problem out after work?
  2. Hey you never said a word to me about the shirt being too hot. Just admit to everyone what you told me about sore nipples. Might have been a good idea to apply your chamois cream higher up :-) I will admit i was a little tired after the race so my first beer took a little while but after that one the pace started picking up
  3. Uuuuum how did you let it go so long?
  4. I only use it on the longer rides, or when i know the arse is going to not enjoy the ride, like the Magalies Monster. Apply double does for that race
  5. I think your heading for a Quote of the day : Now that tyre knows exactly how I feel about its mother!
  6. The one thing I loved about this race is the people. For once no one was moaning that there was too many rocks, sand, leaves on the track. They all knew what it was going to be about, accepted it and got on with the job. Just like it was back in the old days before duel sus bikes 29ers etc. You grabbed a bike and rode.... (ooops showing my age).. Oh and the back markers were very good at moving over. I even had one guy telling a few people that were walking out a ditch near the end that there was a Red board coming, move out the way... Big up to everyone that rode it...
  7. The actual monster climb is quite nice actually. Once you get to the climb you just grind away and it is one of the smoother parts of the race so you get t rest your hands and teeth a bit.....
  8. It was a good test for the new bike. Only damage was a bent gear leaver (hit my knee on it when someone stopped in front of me up a hill and I nearly hit them) and then a bottle cage bolt came loose.... Not too bad for it's 2nd off road ride. I reckon if nothing else fell off then it's good to go after those rocks.... Till next year........... I think i have missed one Monster race since the very first one.
  9. Of course i am. New back tire, a plant and a small chocolate and the points are piling up. Ok so i guess i better replace the bearings on the suspension on her bike this week and build the SS bike for her. If I don't i will be in the dog box for the rest of the year
  10. well I think some of us that did the Monster thought at some point you were about to die, or have a near death experience but dammit, I think I got a little too close behind the devil ha ha
  11. Aaaaaah rooiberg should be fun. Just watch out for the crocodiles (no lies)
  12. Tried to get rouxtjie and mackie to go the Ale House. We often ride VG then head straight to Dirk for a few beers and a pizza. I reckon we should arrange a hubbers day out soon
  13. See you at the Baviaans. Looks out for Team Hatch 2 (6 teams in total)
  14. One tough race, monster never disappoints in that regard. Has anyones eyeballs stopped rattling yet?
  15. They ran out of beer before he got to us :-)
  16. Mmmm just download the app. Flusin, most sinimax, and sinutab nasal sprays banned completely or in competition. Could not fins vibricol so now i am not going to get top 10 at the monster :-)
  17. Some good advice as long as you use the same doc all the time. Reckon next time I will try the same approach. My doc knows i cycle alot and race so may be he will be honest and give me ilegal stuff. But again part of my point you have asked the doc to put the list in your file and make sure nothing is banned, but have you read the list yourself or you just hoping you have an honest doc? Like i said most of us have no clue....
  18. On the new machine for sure (rode it last weekend) but the engine is far from speed after this flu. 1 spinning lesson on wed and then last night the same but felt like i had done a stage race. Those legs are heavy, so i will resort to just riding for fun..... Monster is always fun is it not :-)
  19. Yeah don't finish all the beers and spikebombs before i finish. Me and @typhoon out for a fairly chilled race. Don't want a flu relapse on monday.
  20. Big up for being honest. Yip we all made mistakes in life, at least your not trying to cover it up. Question for all the ave joe riders/hubbers like me out there. Do you know if you have a banned substance in your system? Do you really know? I had flu 2 weeks ago, self medicated for a week, then went to the doc and got the usual botics and nasal spray. Who knows whats in them but dammit i am virtually better. The point being i did not go read the banned list. Be honest more than half the ave cyclist does not know what is banned and in the "Flu High Season" which is now i bet half of us would fail. Did we do wrong, legally yes but lets face it we not winning and would not even know if anything in the medicine even gave us extra vooma. Point being we can't really comment to the full without reading the banned list, their reasons, and how it can get into your system. I would like to think 80% of us just don't know and if we were taking banned stuff it was honest once off get better muti. Note to self this weekend if i am suddenly in the top 10 at the race best i stop for a beer along the way :-)
  21. Looks like @mackie bike is in tip top condition for his first race this year :-)
  22. Shew any ride u should have it fixed for but yes the monster requires brakes not just for the hills but the rocks
  23. We gonna have some fun this year. Chilled ride for me .... Damn flu. No backpacks this time, we gonna stop at the water points #hopetheystockbeer
  24. In my view it is easier when going downhill to move over for the person going uphill. I can get my stride back easily after moving over, but when your stride gets broken going uphill it can be harder to get back on the gas. If 29er's have right of way, 26er's have to move off the path, what do 650b's do?
  25. I will look through the box tonight and send a photo
