  1. Fixed. Last year he was nowhere probably knowing he can`t do dwelms for being under investigation.
  2. Or sometimes they don`t tighten the steerer then your handlebars point right but your wheel still points straight into a turn. But nooooo you must support your lbs. They mark prices up beyond affordability. But nooooo you must support your lbs. Blind loyalty, is that not also why SA is going down the stinker?
  3. I`ll be happy to take you on some great trails, I recommend you to stay in Stellenbosch if possible, I also like climbing so I`ll show you some nasty ones.
  4. You ride to drink a cold coke? I was mtbiking in Jonkers today, I have been since my youth, and it still is just heaps of fun. The fitness challenge, rewarded by some awesome downhill st. Always something to explore, found that st built buy Specialized today it was just pure fun, and somehow got down it in one piece.
  5. Still not clear something is not right. PPA clearly stated that a R35 CSA day license is now included in the PPA events fees. So what about PPA members that already have the CSA annual license? And Amarider also stated if you joined PPA after 28 Feb your CSA license is not included in your PPA subscription, so what about people like me who wants to join now? The "all is fine till 31 Dec" is not applicable to people who joined after 28 Dec or are they?
  6. My reason is insanity.
  7. If cost is an issue then the Giant Anthem 29er is the better option. In fact for me the Anthem will be just a bit better suited to the type of riding I do, XC marathon and some trail riding when not training for fitness.
  8. Still not quite clear. A CSA annual license cost just R75. A day license is R35 per event, big difference in amount if you do many events. So now I go join a club to get my annual CSA license, but if I do a PPA event I still pay the CSA day license (included in the entry fee now)? I smell a dead fat stinkin rat.
  9. What type of rider are you, do you like bunny hopping, kapping wheelies and doing circus tricks? If yes then go 26". The Dale will be like a very quick and excited little race pony that needs to be kept under control. The Pyga will just eat rough terrain for breakfast and then ask for more, and it is more calm and stable and more comfortable, and a much better option for heavier riders.
  10. Unfortunately a big front gonna hit this weekend it seems , always seem to hit on the weekends this year.
  11. 10.6kg For that price is brilliant, thats seriously light - but if too expensive - as Jan said the Silverback Vida 1 is a very good choice with its Stans wheels. Wheels are very important in 29er format and if you go for the Giant or Scott I would recommend an immediate wheel upgrade.
  12. Interesting setup. My dog also dog sometimes chase me on my bike too, but I haven`t tried a Gina racing me on a Y-bike yet.
  13. Momsen takes an easy win here because of the Stans wheels, but much better value than al 3 will be the Silverback Storm.
  14. They have disafailianated, which means no more CSA with PPA. CSA is now in bed with Amarider, problem is PPA has got the events, so best thing for the cyclist is probably to support PPA till such time as Amarider has enough events to justify membership. What a mess, I think CSA is the turd in the drink-water here.
  15. This split is bad for the cyclist. It means that basically the cyclist now has to pay to belong to a CSA affiliated club, then pay his CSA annual license, and pay his PPA annual license. I wonder if PPA will decrease their annual license fee now that a CSA license is not included?
  16. The 42 is quite easy regarding climbs, and there is not a lot more climbing in the 60. I think the 60 will be fairly easy if no mud.
  17. Weight training in the gym for legs, core and upper body is a very time efficient way of boosting your strength, but should not replace time in the saddle, you will still need long rides for endurance too. I would recommend changing your training when you need some strength for MTB. A few good strength training sessions from just 2 weeks before the event could make a big difference, then when you train for non-MTB stuff focus more on cardio before the event.
  18. Now if this weather would just allow us to ride a bit more, damn I`m sick of this weather. From tomorrow there might be a few better days.
  19. MTB is one tough sport, it requires much more power and climbing ability than any other discipline. Do more climbing and power weight training in the gym. MTB requires strong legs, core muscles and also upper body strength. Your training is too much cardio focussed.
  20. No Ampie is thinking: "Crazy humans walking very funny, how do they move so fast but their legs move so slow? And their feet is not even touching the ground, very weird indeed."
  21. 1. Yep its kinda a done deal the only challenger to Wiggo is his worker bee Froomy. 2. I heard Mr Ligget say that they eat more solid foods like fruitcake in the first part of the stage, and later on they top up with energy gel type stuffs.
  22. Ok so you got the bike, now its time to dig up the garden and build that single track with jumps.
  23. The end of his career at Sky is the best thing for his career, if he was on any other team he would have won the tour.
  24. I kinda lost interest in this years tour, why is Froome in the same team as Wiggo? Froomy you lost the Tour by accepting to be a worker bee for Wiggo, maybe it`s not your fault but I think it is. Its also the fault of Evens for not performing. The most boring tour I have seen thus far out of many.
