  1. Can you please do something about the weather so I can train for this.
  2. I never knew medical admin work was included in the LBS prices. I`m gonna cancel my medical insurance and rely on my LBS for medical assistance from now on. I never knew medical assistance was included in the high prices of the LBS. You learn something new everyday.
  3. Not really thrown out a shop just exaggerating. I think times have changed and the LBS of today should offer ordering of parts online on your behalf and not be unhappy when you don`t buy everything from them. They can even charge a bit extra ordering and installing supplied parts.
  4. I need a LBS where they don`t throw me out of the shop because I bought some part elsewhere/online. The old school blind loyalty expensive LBS type of shops should catch a wake-up. They should start ordering stuff from online shops as a service to the customers. They do this anyway without you knowing, they order your part online but not tell you, cause you just might see their mark-up.
  5. I am for a dually trail-bike, my race bike will stay 29er hardtail.
  6. What some people still want to ride small wheels? Well I`ll be damned! 26er is for foolin around, 29er is for riding the bergs!
  7. So you still on Windows 95. It still is the best OS out there. Out with the new, in with the old!
  8. Maybe its Gauteng there are no mountains there only mine dumps, but they are way smaller than the mountains of the Cape.
  9. Hardtail or dually? 115km is a long way so comfort is important.
  10. Ye I also almost fell for the Scott marketing crap. Giant rules! Now just add 29er wheels to that Giant!
  11. Nothing as entertaining as watching a 26er in the sand, I hope they never go extinct!
  12. Hahah the best equipment is always the stuff the LBS has got in stock!
  13. Screw Gobi, some people like them some people don`t, SDG Formula MTR for me, it`s a hidden gem, it just looks comfortable, and when you sit on it, it just is.
  14. Got a way too big for me Peugeot Rapport in 1990 when I was 14, then got a full rigid steel Diamond Back Apex in 1992.
  15. No not much, but there is a nice purple/red loop with good st and a climb just before you join the green loop from the red from Overgauw`s side.
  16. Hello people, you all speak about medium or large, this is inaccurate rather speak of actual sizes in inches. A giant medium is 18" and a Silverback medium is 16.5". I think a 29er should be a bit smaller than a 26er, the wheelbase is longer and the standover is a bit higher. If you feel that you are in between sizes go for another brand with the correct size.
  17. Neither for me, Silverback Storm1!
  18. The 60 was a great ride, some funky mud sections. The st on Simonsberg was an unexpected pleasure, they really should open up a trail here. I found it more tough than expected, it felt like 1700m climbing.
  19. R11500 should be a good deal, but it depends on the specs and condition of the bike. Fox front and Fox RP2 rear is quality. It will probably be a good idea to check how much life there is in the drivetrain, and when last the shocks were serviced, and then try offer something less. But if it is in good condition it is a good buy.
  20. Still lots of mud out on the surrounding trails, not sure about the actual route, should not be too bad.
  21. 40km a bit easy, 75km a bit tough
  22. Where can one get that Ritchey P29? That`s styling! Just did a search to find out...zero, nothing, nada.
  23. Wind will be great drying up the mud baths, on a mtb wind is never a problem, leave that to the roadies.
  24. Redro fish paste
  25. You need some power in your legs, that`s why the heavy resistance spinning bike routine. When you are climbing on your real bike, you can check if it is your legs or your lungs/cardiac keeping you back. You will probably find it is your legs, therefor you have to increase leg strength/power. If you find that its your lungs/cardiac, then you need to up your cadence type exercise routine like rowing or high cadence spinning. I suggest do both.
