  1. I like the idea of having an app that pinpoints my location and speed WHILE training so my wife can keep track with the same app on her phone. Not sure that it fits in with what you are doing though
  2. I find my S2 to be extremely accurate (route, not altitude). But maybe I'm just so slow my phone can't make mistakes
  3. I see what you mean. But these guys (CRC) thought of a business model that works very well. Being angry at them for doing good business... it just doesn't compute.
  4. I don't get it. CRC is a business, not a club
  5. I friend of mine has two phones. He claims his BB is far less accurate than the other
  6. Biker mice of Mars! How's that for an all mountain bike?
  7. Thanks. I'll be rolling on a road bike and training on it too
  8. I'll be doing my very first Argus next year, and need some advice on choosing a training program. I've bought the Bicycling mag's special Argus Cycle Tour magazine and found some very specific training programs in there. There are different plans ranging from the sub-3h plan through to the sub-5h plan and lastly the novice plan. What I'd like to know: Firstly, those of you who have seen these plans, how effective are they? Can anyone really achieve the specified times if they stick to the plan? Secondly, how do I know which plan to choose? If it really was that easy as choosing a plan and following it, I would have been able to choose any plan I want (wait, that has a cliche reach-for-a-dream sound to it.) I've been MTBing for a two years now. Recently I did my first road race at the MTN OFM Classic. I did a terrible time (4h20), but did ride the 65km MTB the previous day too and felt it on the road Sunday. I don't think I'm very fit, and I know I will probably have to choose the sub-5h. The only thing going for me is that I can dedicate myself and be very strict with myself. I have come to a place where I enjoy training harder and finally seeing (slight) improvements. So what do you guys suggest? How do I choose a plan?
  9. Woah, with R2500 extra cash flow a month I would have already bought a rental property. Rather buy assets
  10. So who'll be first to order a complete bike from them?
  11. Die foto's is al op action photo. net. Moer duur
  12. There will be a waiting list on the Argus Cycle Tour website from 1 Feb. You pay R50 admin fee to be put on the waiting list, you would you will be notified of an open place when one becomes available.
  13. Misleading title is misleading
  14. I had a spare set of wheels, so just purchased slicks and put them on. Now I can swap between the wheelsets according to my requirements. No fuss, no drama
  15. Putting slicks on an mtb is not as dof as you make it sound. The difference in effort to your ride is huge compared to the costs. Who cares what roadies think about your mtb with slicks anyway? If you can afford a road bike too, buy one. If not, fit slicks for your road events
  16. Are there nice trails? How many kms did you ride?
  17. It's easier to pee in shorts
  18. The marshals did really well. The race felt very well organized. Big ups to the marshals
  19. If you want to ride to get a good time, get slicks and save your knobbies
  20. First time on a road bike. First time doing a road race. And first time doing the OFM. Did the MTB on Saturday in 3:35 and the road today in 4:25 in group HL. My back felt like it was breaking, and my legs felt yesterday's mtb! Now I can only improve next year! Enjoyed it a lot.
  21. Wind was hectic. Nou moet on maar net relax voor mmore
  22. Dis amper sulke tyd!
  23. Have they got a club name or something? Let us know how they're doing. How many kids? How many bikes? etc
  24. Just like to inform you all that you needn't get excited at the lucky draw about winning the Merida MTB, I'll be taking it home
  25. Spring MTB ook in verskillende seedings weg?
