  1. Probably best to just follow the rules from tomorrow? https://m.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/lockdown-authorities-to-clamp-down-on-sea-point-promenade-joggers-not-following-rules-20200501
  2. Ek se maar liewer niks ????????????
  3. That is the crux of the matter ... And then whom you provide the service to also becomes an issue?
  4. Having such a blast ... No photos Entschuldigung Freunde!
  5. I wear buffs while riding between mid April and generally mid August ... Always had throat issues riding in cold weather. I have no problem with misting up glasses most of the time, only time it happens is on really really steep climbs where I'm going pretty slow ... Then I just pull it down a bit till I get to the top and it's ok again
  6. Jou vrou gaan jou piets oor daai stukkende broek!
  7. I would be highly interested if any other bike shops are open besides the one nerd refers to? And if they are under which of the lockdown rules/regulations would it be possible ... Just yesterday CSA commented that it was not possible on their FB page I guess if you bent the interpretation of the rules enough you could do almost anything .. I don't know of any 'cyclists' that are commuters and essential workers in our area but what do I know [emoji12]
  8. Probably for 'winter clothes' as opposed to bicycle repair ...
  9. Demmit, thought over the helmet would be ok ... *goes and removes it, makes new skull cap one*
  10. Lots that they do doesn't seem to make sense but like you say we'll have to get used to accepting these 'breadcrumbs'
  11. He still has a 3.0L V6 Cortina bakkie ....
  12. You can moan all you want but it is what it is, rather look at how you'll manage within the rules otherwise just stay with the garden marathons or indoor trainer if it suits you better?
  13. I'll take that! I didn't even expect that much ... The smokers on the other hand [emoji44]
  14. My mate's favourite comment when someone brings chicken 'we said you don't have to bring salad' ....
  15. Which in the current schedule is when bike shops can open ... Wonder how many will be paying their staff, bills etc. till then and be able to open?
  16. Just got this from an old triathlete mate of mine .... Scant hope for cyclists to get a small reprieve perhaps? In a letter to members of CSA, the Secretary General, Colin Simpkins, said their request had been denied by the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) this morning in response to "our application for a relaxation in the level 4 restrictions, allowing us to return to the water in a limited capacity". The response by SAMSA was: "While Level 4 is implemented, we cannot allow this. Gyms are closed and although exercise is limited, the request from government is to limit this as much as possible – only walking, jogging and cycling is permitted within the surrounding area of your home”.
  17. I would assume the final one would be a closely guarded secret until Thursday when we are addressed as 'my fellow South Africans'? As best they can that is ... They wouldn't want us to be up in arms before the time, announce and make it law immediately I would imagine as with previous changes. Personally I've made peace with it probably not happening so if it does, in whatever form, it'll be a welcome surprise [emoji41] Thanks though for providing what you get and see!
  18. Very nice! I've made some progress ... My wife tells me to go and ride my bike because she says it calms me and I'm less miserable ... This afternoon she said you look bored go play your guitar, seems to have the same effect as your bike [emoji41]
  19. I treat Rouvy the same I do Strava ... With a pinch of salt! Rouvy to keep me entertained and Strava to keep an eye on my one mate whom I've been 'racing' for about 15 years ... Friendly competition and some good natured ribbing guaranteed!
  20. Not much to do around the house and my wife's starting to get irritated (ok more so than normal) with me so decided to give her a break and get away from her for as long as I can tomorrow ... Plan is to retreat to my bike room and start riding the IDT at 7am, ride as long as I can ... Sort of a 'big day in' but not as crazy as that lot? Downloading a few videos to watch and prepared a USB stick with music ... Planned 2 x a 160k Rouvy route to use. #KillTheBoredom
  21. Many of us understand exactly what you are saying but some may well be asking and eat what?
  22. I'll be ok then, unlike the cool kids I ride with a buff most of the time [emoji12]
  23. Your neighborhood is that busy during lockdown? If you really wanted to go out and ride you would .... Right now I'd ride whatever they let us as long as it's outside ... The way they talk though I'm not getting my hopes up. “The government is good at one thing. It knows how to break your legs, and then hand you a crutch and say, 'See if it weren't for the government, you wouldn't be able to walk.” Harry Brown

  25. That last paragraph and the last sentence just don't go together, practice what you preach ... Maybe it's just me?
