  3. Thanks Johan, I have checked for the groove in the cable anchor and with the Chorus RD, this is on the bottom most part of the anchor bolt (Mine was correctly positioned). After a bit of tinkering this morning the problem has evolved slightly. My 10 speed shifters have turned into 9 speed shifters . The chain shifts beautifully into the innermost 8 sprockets, however when shifting from the 8th to the 9th sprocket, it jumps the 9th and engages into the smallest (10th) sprocket. My shifters should have one more click to go but, alas, she is all clicked out. If i totally loosen the cable anchor on the RD, and apply a bit of tension by pulling on the cable, i can get all 9 clicks back. The minute i try set up the indexing, this problem reappears. Nearly out of hair... Veloce2008-09-28 09:45:20
  4. I cannot, for some reason, seem to get my gears to change nice and smoothly on the rear cassette. I have a Chorus RD, chorus chain and an ultegra 10 sp cassette. I have setup countless bikes before with no issues but am tearing my hair out trying to get this setup to work. I first installed the RD and checked its travel, adjusted the limit screws accordingly and have left them well alone after establishing the correct amount of travel. After insalling the cassette i have managed to get the chain to sit nice and smooth in the center 4 sprockets. If i shift up to a bigger sprocket, the chain clicks and wants to go one sprocket up. Any more shifts and it jumps a sprocket. If I shift down from the center the chain clicks and wants to move down a sprocket. This is driving me nuts as as the chain doesn't consistanly want to go up or down a sprocket. Its happy in the middle 4 sprockets and plays these funny tricks on either side. Please help, I'm running out of hair!!!!!!! Veloce2008-09-28 05:34:25
  5. Now the Bianchi in the background....sheesh, need to open a window here, getting rather hot....
  6. You used to be able to get an alloy Prince. The new ones are carbon. If there is anything but Record on that bike thats like buying a Ferrari and putting aftermarket TSW rims on the thing.
  7. If its a Prince then my jealousy levels have gone through the roof!!!!! hmmmm...Catherine Zeta Jones or the Prince...tough one...
  8. That is one bellisima maccina!!!!! What a beaut, nothing like a fine italian thoroughbred between your legs so I've been told . Is it a Dogma??
  9. Both get pronounced incorrectly all too often
  10. Anything that starts with a B and ends in an i with ianch in between means it an awesome machine!!!!!! That is a great bike from the reviews I've read, but i unfortunately dont know anyone who owns one. Its from the Reparto Corse division though so you know what that means!!!
  11. When you learn to spell "aficionado" we'll try and explain it to you.
  12. Alrighty, so the aliens still use a mould but rather than cover it up with the weave finish, they choose the marble finish, hence the mould line and look, but it is still carbon fibre. Got it. Thanks guys!! Veloce2008-08-28 02:36:23
  13. Where can I get me some bars made from scandinavians???
  14. I have a set of pre Ultra-Torque Record cranks. What are these crank arms made of?? I know they are sold as carbon cranks but heck, so am I made of carbon. The reason why I ask is because: 1) They dont look like carbon fibre, they do not have the weave but rather some other rather good looking pattern on them. (I know CF can be painted but this aint paint, it looks like the raw finish) Campy hasn't even tried to make them look like CF. 2) My front derailleur rubbed up against my crank arm when it was slightly out of adjustment and the slight scratch on the crank arm left some black residue on the derailleur that once again didn't resemble the characteristics of CF. 3) If you look at the top of the crank arm you can see a moulding line running down the length of the arm, surely the wrapping of CF wouldn't leave a moulding line like this. I think its made by the same aliens who built the pyramids from a mixture of Kryptonite and uber-tanium, but I might be wrong about this... Veloce2008-08-28 02:13:25
  15. That is uber sexy!!!!
  16. Grrrrrrrrr Bellisima Bianchi is just fine thank you!!! Did you manage to scrub all that dirt out from your teeth.....

  19. A great day was had by all!!! The lunch (read beer) will never be forgotten..
  20. Very interesting read that...got to do with resonances in the frame and constructive interference causing the oscillations to build up until a noticable "wobble" is achieved. You can counter this by damping the resonant frequency or by changing it by squeezing your knees on the top tube. I've tried this and it does work.. Your hands on the bars were obviously damping any resonances in the fork and the removal thereof released the demon within!!!!! Cars have the same issue when they experience valve bounce: the valve springs oscillate at high frequencies (high revs) and then all timing is lost and you run out of revs and damage the valves at the same time Proper cars like the older Alfa Romeos counter this with 2 springs that have different resonant frequencies so they cancel each other out, the result, a much higher revving, race winning engine Veloce2008-08-17 13:40:39
  21. AWESOME!!!!
  22. kewl should be fun. Velo-chie, velo-chie, velo-chie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pink Floyd will be very upset if they hear you lalalalala-ing to their masterpiece
  23. So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, Blue skys from pain. Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade Your heros for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange A walk on part in the war For a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here. What are the numbers looking like bobster???
