    Decals

Does anybody know where I can get a "Giant" decal from? I want to do a spray job and stick the decals on before the clear coat but can't seem to find anyone who sells decals.
  2. Bicycling magazine issue: January/February 2007, page 40 refers. "Riding with Brad Hunter, Easton wheelman meets Western cape." Here is an excerpt from the interview with Brad Hunter: "....what makes our wheels good is something you can't see. It's a combination of many factors - materials, bearing technology, lacing patterns, high and equal spoke tension.... Like today, I was at a big bike store doing a demo and I plucked each spoke of an Easton Circuit wheel. They all made the same noise. Then I took another wheel - don't ask which because I won't tell you. All the spokes played a different note. That's bad wheel building." Didn't you say this was a load of horse crap Johan? I remember a previous thread where you said it is impossible to acheive equal spoke tension throughout the entire radius of the wheel. This jogged my memory to this article which I only managed to find again this morning. I would like to know if this comment made by Brad is a load of horse crap or not. Veloce2008-11-16 04:05:45
  3. YES!!! This makes perfect sense!! My concentric shaft story only modelled the wheel on its own. Having the mass of the vehicle in which th energy is unloaded, and the removal thereof (energy not being created or destroyed) the wheel can only accellerate.
  4. I agree that the only contributing factor here is the removal of resistive forces, however consider this: If a wheel was being spun on a motor via a concentric shaft (lets assume a frictionless shaft) it would reach a particular speed according to the RPM of the motor. If we cut the motor and let the wheel spin purely on the frictionless shaft now, will it speed up?? Mass of the vehicle is the key - ask Bruce!!Veloce2008-11-13 03:06:57
  5. Funny enough' date=' the surface in contact with the road is travelling at Zero kph with respect to the road. On a moving tank or bulldozer, approximately one third of the track is always stationary with respect to to the ground it is moving over. [/quote'] Not funny at all. The bottom most part of the tyre is travelling a t 0 km/h and the top most part is travelling at 240 km/h for a vehicle travelling at 120km/h. The only time the bottom most part of the tyre is travelling at more than 0 km/h is when there is wheelspin. As for the record player story, the outside is travelling faster than the inside, if you make 2 marks on the record, one near the center and one one the outermost part, the one in the center has trevelled less distance in the same amount of time, therefore it has travelled slower. The data on the record is just "stretched" as you move outwards. As for the wheel, I'm not going with the increase in diameter theory as it would indeed travel faster than a smaller diameter wheel with the same amount of revolutions however more energy would be required in order to achieve this. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...

  12. A friend of mine had the exact same problem. The darn clicking noise would always appear on the left hand side at the 11 0 'clock position. After much fiddling with his bike, the problem turned out to be the linkage in his knee on his prosthetic leg.
  13. You kissed a girl????? ..............really really bored.........Veloce2008-10-16 00:12:25

  17. Phone Hattons in Springfield because the one in Pinetown doesnt have as much stock and arent as jacked up. (Just my experience)
  18. Who have you tried keith? I know Hattons can bring them in. By the way, a mate of mine has got the 2006 RM5 and it is excellent value for money!!!
  19. I bought a pair of Giordana Silverline bibs for Sani2C, they are the best bibs i have ever ridden with and my butt thanked me on day 2 for getting some decent padding!!!
  20. I used to ride with a set of Shimano WHR550 wheels and then bought a set of Mavic Kysriums for racing (I know JB, I know....) The thing i really like about the Mavics is that they have sealed bearings as i was getting rather irritated with having to strip and re-grease the Shimano bearings every 4 months. I would like to get another set of everyday wheels but what is available that has sealed bearings for a decent price?? And as for MTB, I have to strip and regrease the wheel bearing every month or so because the Shimano LX hub does not have a rubber seal on the rotor side!!!
