  1. Yes you can use carbon assembly paste to help stop the slipping. I use Tacx carbon paste on my seatpost to stop it slipping. Works like a bomb. Here is the link to the product I use: http://www.tacx.com/en/products/tools/carbon-assembly-compound The 80g tube will cost about R180 but it lasts a long time. And try bar ends. If it works for you then use it. Some folk are way more concerned about image than functionality.
  2. I'm hoping for some cloud cover and a slight breeze but it seems I'm out of luck for this one as well. I feel sorry for the later bunches. When I got to ''Jou Bliksem" at VG I wished I went for a swim at the floating bridge.
  3. Its on the Advendurance email they sent me. Read below: Updated Start times: Start times have been slightly adjusted, to allow for a better spread of riders on route, because only the first 10km is shared, we want to give you maximum freedom on the trails. For that reason we are making the time gaps at 10min increments. Marathon to start at 07:00 / Half Marathon from 08:30 / Fun Race & Fun Ride from 10:20 onwards.
  4. Not 100% sure but I think so.
  5. 26er or 29er or both?
  6. I like! When is it going into production?
  7. I think its 10min batch intervals. In what batch and distance are you?
  8. RACE PROGRAMME: 06h45: Riders Briefing / Leaders Jersey Handover 07h00: Start Marathon 08h30: Start Half Marathon 10h00: Start Fun Race 10h50: Fun Ride 13h00: Prize Giving
  9. Well you see that is "your interpretation" and in my interpretation of your comment you generalized us as being anti bikers. In my interpretation of the other comments on this thread I never felt that anyone said that all bikers are bad etc even though you interpreted it like that. To answer your question. I for one feel that two wrongs don't make a right. I would have done my best to get his registration number and alert authorities and let the law take its course. If necessary and possible, maybe do a citizen's arrest on the guy but to assault the guy in front of his family..........no I won't do it. I feel strongly that we must all stand up for what is right but don't expect me to do wrong while standing up for what is right.
  10. You were the one that blamed us all for generalizing that all bikers are bad. Now you are generalizing that we are all anti bikers.... Practice what you preach.
  11. Prepare yourself for the comments to follow
  12. Hahaha. Ek moes baie "Hardegat word sag" doen op skool. Dit mag dalk net help die naweek
  13. Apparently there is socks in the bag
  14. Awesome. Love those socks!
  15. Do you know if the different routes merge somewhere close to the end? If so it can make the problem worse. Still looking forward to the race.
  16. Damm, was hoping you could pull me up the hills.
  17. Right I'm out of here. Need to get some work done before the boss generalises and classifies all his employees as slouches that are only there for their paychecks
  18. Thanks for the clarification Don't let people's generalisations get to you. Its a general thing for people to do that and nothing you say or do will ever be able to change that. If people like to generilise we might as well say that all humans are inhumane, criminal, aggressive beings that tend to adapt a selfish behaviour and will do anything to prove what he/she said or does is right.
  19. Correct. But I cannot remember where we have said that all bikers are idiots, twats, arse*$ etc ect ect. I also cannot remember that we have ever said that all cyclists are angels and do no wrong.
  20. Please get over it. Yes we get Cyclists, bikers and other road users that drive ***. Its something we have to deal with each day. But you cannot approve the bikers actions in this case. What they did was wrong. If every person that feels that they were treated unfairly take the law into their own hands what society will we have? The suv was never going to outrun the bikers because this is not a scene from mission impossible where a suv can catch a bike. Two wrongs dont make a right. They had the video evidence, they could have gotten the suv's number plate and left it to the law to sort the guy out. They could even have followed the guy and phone the police and waited for them to arrest him. But if you feel that they did the right thing please feel free to pull over every taxi, car, bicycle that does not indicate and cut in front of you and moer each and every driver and lets see how far you get.
  21. Hahahaha. Great story. Lekker way to start the day. Now I'm going to think of cycling the whole day long instead of working...............Oh wait, I do that anyways.
  22. Neither the suv or the bikers did right here. You can't argue that all bikers drive nicely and within the laws. Unfortunately you do get the guys (the same within cycling) that ruin the reputation of the whole cycling/biking community. How many times have I not rode on the N1 at the speed limit when a biker comes flying past at breakneck speed. I'm sorry but if I pass a guy like that 1km down the road where he is lying in the road because he crashed I won't feel sorry for him because he is placing his own life in danger as well as others on the road. Same goes for cyclist and other drivers. I do however feel sorry for their families that have to pick up the pieces.
  23. The bikers also had plenty of evidence (video proof) to go and make a case against the driver but instead they decided it would be best to pull this guy over and assault him.
  24. Why get aggressive? What I saw on the vid is a suv riding on a road then a biker pulls in front of him and applies brakes and gets hit by the car. There was no traffic in front of the bike nor a traffic stop.....then why did he suddenly slow down?
  25. Marathon of half marathon?
