  1. Yes got mine. I'm seeded in C batch again.
  2. Just like the cycling community the Motorcyclists are also stained by a few ARS.....$ But the bikers seem to stick together and when their adrenalin gets pumping stuff like this happens. I don't think they stopped him the first time to exchange details and carry on with their ride. Can only imagine how traumatising it must have been for the wife and child in the car. If I was attacked like that and I have a wife and child in the car I will most probably act the same way.
  3. In that case I better use my white jersey and not the black one I used at VG. I almost died.
  4. Riding with a gun? You think you will have enough time to pull out your firearm as a means of protection against criminals? If you dont have time, they might use the gun on you or take it from you and use it for another crime.
  5. Ummm. Did I miss the drop-off on the vid? That looks more like a slight downhill section. Can't wait for the race on Saturday! First time at Hakahana and I did my climbing homework since VG broke me. Think I'm ready for this one............................. I hope the weather plays along. If I can order, I would like cloudy/partly cloudy with a slight breeze to cool things down.
  6. Haha, thanks. I quite liked your idea of cutting the frame in half and checking the layup as well. Maybe he can post a pic after doing so then we can help further.
  7. Ask one of the Pinarello agents to check the serial number on the frame. They should be able to check if the frame came from a Pinarello factory or is registered on their database using the serial number.
  8. He has a red frame. That makes him fast B)
  9. You don't perhaps own a red Assos jersey?
  10. Hahaha, well I am not the race snake I used to be except on the downhills due to my gravitational mass that increased and I know that a engine like that will look for every available opportunity to stop and refuel if his momentum does not get him over the next hill.......................Been there done that PLENTY!
  11. Sure. I know exactly what you are talking about. None of these ideas are ideal, but what happens when I put an empty gu packet back in my pocket and the next time I reach to take something out it sticks to my glove and falls out without me knowing it? Sure if someone informs me I will gladly pick it up again because I hate it when people litter (on the trail and urban) But don't you think it will help having more dustbins on route? Then I can throw away my litter at the first available point. I say also slogan the dustbins to create awareness. Something like "If you want to enjoy this trail again, help us keep it clean" If you don't allow cyclist on your ground and all land owners start to do the same, where will we be able to ride? What do you suggest we do to people that litter? I gave a suggestion to solve the problem, your turn. I personally only eat at a water point. When I'm done I throw my paper in the dustbin provided. If there is none then I put it back in my pocket.
  12. How must someone provide proof? Must they race up to the guy and ask him to throw down his litter again but whilst the OP takes a video of him/her doing it
  13. Or perhaps organisers can get some sore dustbins on route. Say every 5km with slogans like "please help to keep trails tidy" Usually there are more than one dustbin at the water points but seems everyone eats their energy bar in the 3-5km after the water point.
  14. Perhaps organisers should incorporate a cleaning fee in all entries. Sure its not cool to pay for something that is not our fault but most of us already do. We pay for security companies to monitor our belongings because our police service is incapable etc. In that way organisers can create jobs by getting people to do a sweep of the route after a race and pick up any litter left behind. But if they do this they should stipulate that its for cleaning so that people can see why their entry fee goes up. Sadly this will cause people to abuse the service and you will see people throwing litter all over the place.
  15. I think he meant that people that have a passion for the sport won't do something to breakdown the image of the cycling community. Unfortunately you do get people that just started riding and have not yet learned what is acceptable in the sport and what the consequences of their actions are like littering and land owners refusing to allow cyclists on their land.
  16. Use what you have. There is nothing more satisfying that passing a roadie on your 26'' MTB. And remember to smile and wave when you pass them
  17. Damm, and I bought Hub cycling kit I better wear them inside out!
  18. Just for interest sake. If you use the speed/cadence sensor to determine speed, does the unit still plot your route and give you info like meters climbed etc?
  19. My goodness. That Assos jersey is starting to peel open at the zip. He should not need to eat anything on route, he's got plenty of reserve energy stacked. And that front suspension seems very compressed. Maybe he should check the pressure he is running in that fork.
  20. Will I be named and shamed if I take something out of my pocket and other litter that was already in my pocket fell out? Or will I only get named and shamed if you inform me of the litter that fell out of my pocket and I refuse to stop and pick it up?
  21. Yea. The website was very slow to respond when I entered. Was quite nervous to make payment but luckily it went through the first time. If you have facebook you can try and ask them what is wrong and when it will be fixed there.
  22. I entered last week Thursday 19/09 and seems I also missed the early bird entries..........................
  23. Hardtail = Suspension only on the front Softtail = Suspension front and rear. In this case the rear suspension is on the seatpost.
  24. WTF! I race my 3x9 speed. And I compete with a lot of riders with MUCH better specked bikes. It all boils down to fitness and preference and what you can afford obviously. Oh and BTW, I only ride/race MTB. No road cycling for me.
  25. If you can do all this and still tell me that its restrictive then I will believe you
