  1. Agree 100% on all points. Stage finish is straight without much deviation. Going to be a pure battle of the Sprint trains. Final kilometres The route enters urban Scalea for the stage finale, which is raced on wide, straight and well-paved roads, with one last roundabout at the ‑3 km mark. The home straight is on tarmac road. Unfortunately, I think Girmay needs to play his cards clever and just shadow Cav'. That DQS train is going to be tough to beat. Sit on his wheel and hope for a mistake/miscalculation.
  2. Girmay putting in a solid effort in the points jersey competition MAGLIA CICLAMINO Arnaud DEMARE 94 Biniam GIRMAY 72 Fernando GAVIRIA RENDON 67 Mathieu VAN DER POEL 62 Mark CAVENDISH 53
  3. Cavendish and Caleb Ewan dropped out the bunch on the CAT 2 climb in the middle of the stage. The other teams are keeping the pace high to keep them out of contention. Likely sprinters to benefit at the finish line: -Girmay -MvdP -Demare -Gaviria In that order
  4. Hope you are watching Nick, Kamna is smashing it!
  5. SS6 just came back online... English feed available
  6. Peloton remains 5m30s behind the break with 10km to go. Looking good for the breakaway right now
  7. Of coarse 🤦‍♂️. Thanks
  8. Best I have found is that he has been carrying a hip injury for the last couple of days.
  9. FFS, Supersport Feed is down. Anyone on GCN+ that can fill us in?
  10. 7m25s lead with 25km until the climb starts. Breakaway should start the climb with a 5min lead, give or take
  11. 80km to go, 7m30s lead for the Break. Still looking good for him right now 58km till they start the climb...
  12. 13:34:48 The advantage of the breakaway group continues to grow: 11'06'' after 40 km of racing Live News 13:19:45 Here are the 14 breakaway members Valerio Conti (Astana Qazaqstan), Lennard Kämna (Bora-hansgrohe), Davide Villella, Rémy Rochas (Cofidis), Rein Taaramae (Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert), Gijs Leemreize (Jumbo-Visma), Sylvain Moniquet (Lotto Soudal), Mauri Vansevenant (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl), Juan Pedro Lopez (Trek-Segafredo), Stefano Oldani (Alpecin-Fenix), Diego Andrés Camargo (EF Education-EasyPost), Erik Fetter (Eolo-Kometa), Alexander Cataford (Israel-PremierTech) and Lilian Calmejane (AG2R Citroën). 8’10” gap for them.
  13. 13:36:02 A moment we never wanted to comment on This is the moment when Miguel Angel Lopez is forced to abandon the Giro d’Italia. The Colombian rider had staked a lot on this Giro. Now also the internal dynamics of Astana Qazaqstan Team will have to change, will Vincenzo Nibali become the captain?
  14. Etna + wind = BIG time gaps? But, who wants to carry the responsibility of Pink for the rest of the Giro? Long way to go to Verona. Maybe they'll let a strong breakaway go take the Win and the GC guys can cover each other up the final climb.
  15. Today we need to keep our heads down and get those tasks closed off on the Project plan, because tomorrow, we ride Mt Etna. 1358m of climbing in the final 22.8km.😱 Nothing is impossible, but I think we might have a new leader in GC...
  16. Haha, I'm wrong the vast majority of the time. If I'm right on a day, it is "meer luck as wysheid", like my Father-in-law says. But what about this Girmay guy! Fantastic to see him bring that form from the Classics to a GT! Respect MvdP, he now only needs the Vuelta GC leaders Jersey to complete a very elusive set.
  17. 30k to go, so probably in about 20mins...
  18. Not to douse everyone's excitement, but things might not pan out the way we all imagine it will... https://www.strava.com/activities/7091280584#2957247184404444294 5.6k climb at 4% might be a bit too far for MvdP et Al, specially if the climbing trains take over and purposefully try to dump the "big" guys out the back...
  19. Nah, I'm going with Caleb Ewan... he is going to sit in the slip of MvdP and leave him for dead ...
  20. Very excited for this Giro as it doesn't seem to have an out-and-out favourite, should lead to some very exciting racing. Carapaz is probably the closest to a favourite, but not at the level of Tadej when he arrives at the TDF later this year. Afternoon WFH sessions are going to be the norm for me these next three weeks
  21. The normal Road To Sky has 10mins of "Dead Time" until you reach the incline. I've got a special route I do if I ride between 30mins and 50mins to maximize elevation: I start on Road To Sky, but do an immediate u-turn and then keep right at the first intersection. This takes you up the EPIC REVERSE KOM climb within a minute of starting, there is an additional section at the top where you turn right to get another steep section until the elevation runs out. It feels like the best elevation gain for time spent on the bike in that 30mins-50mins slot. If I know I'm doing a ride of longer than an hour, then Road to Sky is my poison as I want to win those Meilensteins in the Lottery at the top of Alpe De Zwift.
