  1. 13:36:02 A moment we never wanted to comment on This is the moment when Miguel Angel Lopez is forced to abandon the Giro d’Italia. The Colombian rider had staked a lot on this Giro. Now also the internal dynamics of Astana Qazaqstan Team will have to change, will Vincenzo Nibali become the captain?
  2. Etna + wind = BIG time gaps? But, who wants to carry the responsibility of Pink for the rest of the Giro? Long way to go to Verona. Maybe they'll let a strong breakaway go take the Win and the GC guys can cover each other up the final climb.
  3. Today we need to keep our heads down and get those tasks closed off on the Project plan, because tomorrow, we ride Mt Etna. 1358m of climbing in the final 22.8km.😱 Nothing is impossible, but I think we might have a new leader in GC...
  4. Haha, I'm wrong the vast majority of the time. If I'm right on a day, it is "meer luck as wysheid", like my Father-in-law says. But what about this Girmay guy! Fantastic to see him bring that form from the Classics to a GT! Respect MvdP, he now only needs the Vuelta GC leaders Jersey to complete a very elusive set.
  5. 30k to go, so probably in about 20mins...
  6. Not to douse everyone's excitement, but things might not pan out the way we all imagine it will... https://www.strava.com/activities/7091280584#2957247184404444294 5.6k climb at 4% might be a bit too far for MvdP et Al, specially if the climbing trains take over and purposefully try to dump the "big" guys out the back...
  7. Nah, I'm going with Caleb Ewan... he is going to sit in the slip of MvdP and leave him for dead ...
  8. Very excited for this Giro as it doesn't seem to have an out-and-out favourite, should lead to some very exciting racing. Carapaz is probably the closest to a favourite, but not at the level of Tadej when he arrives at the TDF later this year. Afternoon WFH sessions are going to be the norm for me these next three weeks
  9. The normal Road To Sky has 10mins of "Dead Time" until you reach the incline. I've got a special route I do if I ride between 30mins and 50mins to maximize elevation: I start on Road To Sky, but do an immediate u-turn and then keep right at the first intersection. This takes you up the EPIC REVERSE KOM climb within a minute of starting, there is an additional section at the top where you turn right to get another steep section until the elevation runs out. It feels like the best elevation gain for time spent on the bike in that 30mins-50mins slot. If I know I'm doing a ride of longer than an hour, then Road to Sky is my poison as I want to win those Meilensteins in the Lottery at the top of Alpe De Zwift.

  11. Yep, the cost thing can obviously be easily overcome. Took one of my wife's old discarded deep sauce pans and I cook up my brew on the electric stove whenever needed. Afterwards I just leave the mix in the pan to cool down and set, then store it away until I need it again. The main benefit for me is that the lube actually gets into the places where it is needed if you "cook" it in the pot/pan. Drip dry and then wipe with a paper-cloth, nothing left on the outside to attract dirt and grime, the chain stays clean for very long.
  12. I use it with just the candles and lamp oil. The silence is amazing. As soon as I start hearing something, I know it is time for a dip in the wax. I'll never spend a cent on Commercial chain lube ever again.
  13. We will all be the winners if Roglic and Pog can stay upright for the full 3 weeks and they settle it on the road. Fingers Crossed that we get it this year.
  14. Those are the type of results you would want to see from a prospective TDF Green Jersey contender.....😈 (I'm not going to let this bone go until they unleash him to go chase it)
  15. Proper Poweslide during the pull-away... Would love to see the power readings...
  16. 'Bala' has a good history at L-B-L and with his 2nd-place on Wednesday, he has to be on decent form to be in with a shot. But I feel one of the younger ones are going to take it. Past winners: 2021 Tadej Pogacar (Slo) UAE Team Emirates 2020 Primoz Roglic (Slo) Jumbo-Visma 2019 Jakob Fuglsang (Den) Astana Pro Team 2018 Bob Jungels (Lux) Quick-Step Floors 2017 Alejandro Valverde (Spa) Movistar 2016 Wout Poels (Ned) Team Sky 2015 Alejandro Valverde (Esp) Movistar Team 2014 Simon Gerrans (Aus) Orica–GreenEdge 2013 Dan Martin (Irl) Garmin–Sharp 2012 Maxim Iglinsky (Kaz) Astana 2011 Philippe Gilbert (Bel) Omega Pharma–Lotto 2010 Alexandre Vinokourov (Kaz) Astana 2009 Andy Schleck (Lux) Team Saxo Bank 2008 Alejandro Valverde (Esp) Caisse d'Epargne 2007 Danilo Di Luca (Ita) Liquigas 2006 Alejandro Valverde (Esp) Caisse d'Epargne–Illes Balears
  17. Sainz will be having some more impetus this weekend...
  18. That was very close for the Vet.
  19. "Sprint Trains" are now in full force to put their peak riders in position for the finish... 9km to go. Tune in now if you can...
  20. 2 riders added to the breakaway, now 6 riders up the road, but only 20s lead with 24km to go.
  21. FYI. 30km to go, Impey is up the road in a 4-man breakaway...
  22. La Flèche Wallonne Femmes Top 5 12:26 1. Marta Cavalli (FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope) 2. Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar) 3. Demi Vollering (SD Worx), +10'' 4. Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (SD Worx), +17'' 5. Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo), +30''
