A while ago there was an attempted jacking near the Lower Church St bridge and the guys living next to the bridge actually helped to get the bike back. On another occasion a rider was robbed of his cell phone under the N1 underpass and it turned out to be perps from Athlone who had a car waiting on top of the bridge. The I phone was traced to Athlone I suspect that the trouble is caused by chancers moving through the area. Before being to brave and trying to take the bad guy/s on ,consider that they will most probably have a knife or a gun and will not hesitate to use it and they will have experience in the art Consider your route and stay alert Be safe out there

Never to young to start commuting.Caught the 4.30 bike bus from Ct Train Lodge and enjoyed the company of a 2 or 3 year old riding with his dad ,until they turned off at Woodstock. Big Up young man!!

Fishing related -See fishermen in False Bay are catching Kob.They are however using drones to take the bait out. Is that even fishing ? Bit like E bikes!!

R27 is boring and in Dec the SE wind is gonna pump.Also lots of traffic.Stay on Mamre rd and then down to Melkbos or via Phillidelfia -Malanshoogte (Always good in 40 Degrees C).Start out early

Too quiet along there at that time and these guys are brave after partaking in Alc or tik.When quiet rather ride on the bus lane( more space) or take FW De Klerk

What time of day and what specific section?

Three patrol cars on the Bus route between Zoar vlei and Woodstock on Sunday morning .They close one gap ,the problems move .They cannot be everywhere.Druggies shooting up at The Cenotaph in full view of tourists as well as **** on the steps.In the Gardens there is graffiti on the War Memorial.Depressing!!

Agree with Vulgar - No toilets for the ladies except at Malgas and nowhere to hide along the route!

Did the 100 miler -1st section an absolute nightmare.Tired at 1st waterpoint ,wanted to give up at 2nd waterpoint but saw no bike transport,had some snacks and went on my unhappy way towards Malgas.Got caught in rain before Malgas going downhill at 50kmh mud covering glasses,removed glasses and got eyes full of mud ,dirty glasses back on.Had some roosterbrood etc and crossed on the pont.Section 2 still tough but felt much better and actually started overtaking riders.finished at about 5pm position 285.Big up to Noleen for the company on the last 15km. Same average speed for section 1 and 2 .Cannot understand why I felt so lousy in section1. Will be back! Camping in winter not for the faint hearted.

Just when you think it is safe in a certain area then the paw paw hits the fan. 2 guys driving from Melkbos to Blaauwberg 16/6 21h00 stop at Kelpbaai for the one to relieve himself. Gets shot in the leg and perp runs to the beach.the cycle path is right there and cyclists on it at all hours Be careful out there

Came in on FW De Klerk at 5am for the last couple of mornings and it is frightening with cars going at 80-100kmh in the wet especially under the Lower Church st bridge where the road narrows and you have to hug the curb,so I have been taking the off ramp and then coming down the on ramp onto FW De Klerk again. F....these muggers.Yesterday afternoon there were 4 guys walking under the N1 bridge ,so I hopped onto the buslane to get more space.The more riders on the buslane the more the bus drivers will get p off

The guy who was killed on the 8th was a surfer , who was just coming out from a session at Witsands , at 5.20pm . They have identified the suspects ,who are now on the run . RIP to our fellow water brother.

Good advice Also:If the traffic light is green for you ,does not mean the guy at the red light is going to stop,especially early morning. Beware for guys driving without lights Beware of guys driving on the wrong side of the road Beware of guys overtaking each other while you are approaching them ,even if you have lights flashing.Container trucks on Marine service rd Beware at traffic lights early morning,while you are waiting for red to change, you are a sitting duck ,be alert as to who is hanging around and fancys your bike.

Went past this site yesterday morning and the holes are still uncovered but some brain surgeon has thrown the chevron on the Sunset beach side in to the hole.Climbed in to get it out .Pretty deep if you fall in. Be careful out there
