If you are commuting in the dark, beware under the Lower Church st bridge there is a guy sleeping in the cycle lane and that section is pretty dark especially if riding with lights switched off.He almost had Kenda small block all over him.

After the carnage on the roads over the last few weeks,I have decided against riding on Nelson Mandela dr before 5am on my commute. I have put off commuting for a couple of days, but as from tomorrow I will be taking on Hijack alley in the dark. Contemplating what self defence gadgets to take along

Driving to work at 5am this morning ,I was amazed at all the traffic coming from the city.Drivers skipping traffic lights,driving without lights and speeding.If you are driving or cycling tomorrow morning take care ,there will be some crazy people on the roads.Stay safe!!!!

Thought I would extend my commute with a trip to Oude Kraal and back,but only got as far as Clifton.Traffic was gridlocked and I was forced to go up Geneva Dr with a fair amount of sweating.Be careful out there

Just link up with some of the other riders going through there.Safety in numbers

Nothing like sneaking away from work for a little trip to Campsbay or Oude Kraal and back.Brings back some sanity.

Rather turn off at Disa Rd and go past World of Birds ,then Empire Rd down towards the beach.These back roads have less traffic as well.

567 Cape talk reported a bike jacking in Prince Georges Dr yesterday afternoon.Bike grabbed by group of guys ,one rode off on the bike .Lots of onlookers - NOBODY DID ANYTHING.

Koeberg Nat.Res. should drain ,but stay away from section alongside R27.Would still give it some time to drain though.

What about eating and drinking after training?

About to do a night commute after finishing my shift .First one in a long time ,car at Auto elect.for the weekend.Bit more nervous about the late night than the early morning.May the drivers all be sober and driving carefully!!Will be hugging the edge of the road.

A really sad day,when our Beautyful Peninsula all of a sudden is not that beautiful a place to live in any more. No more safe hiking on Table Mountain,No more walks on the beach at Muizenberg because tikkoppe from Vryground are robbing people on the beach,No more fishing at Strandfontein at 5am because you could get shot,No more safe cycling on Table mountain. "Evil men prevail,because good men do nothing" or something like that

Great news! Where was the bike found?

1.Be carefull and slow on the cycletrack at the Lagoonbeach robots .Those slight corners at the robots are crashes waiting to happen if you come through there to fast and meet up with cyclists,walkers,cars. 2.If there is a puddle next to the road don't expect cars to give it a miss.Got a cold shower this morning on the way to work.

That section through Maitland would scare me with all those taxis and trucks during peak hour and the road is very narrow.
