  1. Don't let the mainvain come to a abrupt halt - can cause the member to strike and cause problems with work efficiency.... Bos makes sense - nice one - glad I'm on the right / hard path already. Don't wanna be a couch rider converting to a klip
  2. 50 cal BABY! more fun than trank and torch.
  3. f'CK it - who cares. It was your tv and a random guy. No you don't have either but it OK. Buy a new one and there will be no other guy
  4. NTW 20 - BARRET SNIPER GUN
  5. Yeah nice gun "big fken barrel"
  6. I have a thin road saddle and a thin one on my hardtail XC MTB - no problems. Love it. Ass get used to it - MTBing is hard = fact so stop moaning ride a TRUE HARDTALE with a flat saddle - racing setup. No pussy sh*t with Dual bikes - couch saddles and double bartape (some people use bartape on MTB nowa days) I say - ride kaalbal (commando / freeballing) on your HT MTB then your a real man.
  7. I'll donate money for that. if your done there - come here and I have more "work" for you to do. Some people believe that things standing around or lying around doesn't belong to anyone and its OK to take it - even if its in your house. Some even take stuff from you while its in use - like a car.. Setup a bank accnt and let us know - surely a few people will donate. In no time you'll have a rifle - silencer and a 50round ammo clip, with a MOERSE scope so you can cover the town from one tower...
  8. Puffy saddles makes you lazy - then you go slower. Hard eina ass makes you wanna finish the race asap... Puffy saddles give way after time and then results that your leg length is not the same anymore and can cause pain on the front of the knee Hard flat saddles don't give way - only burns the fat on your ass and after a while its bone on plastic/carbon. No length changes etc and also the above reason!
  9. SERIOUSLY guys / and girls. Ja I know the people drive like total tools nowadays BUT.............. IT WAS THE LAST DAY OF HOLIDAY - so cycling on beach road strand is just plain stupid. We must use our own common sense as well - busy days = stay off the road. Rather wake up earlier and start your ride - finish 10ish before people go to the beach etc. Its like going for a ride 17:00 on a Monday (or weekday) in Rondebosch, or Paarl main road etc. Its a obvious time for lots of traffic - the more traffic the more bad drivers thus more change of something not going well.
  10. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/20/world/africa/20tunisia.html?_r=1 Read the above link Yeah the thing is I, and I believe most other South africans know when something is dodge - let it be a area your driving or walking in - people your meeting or buildings whatever, and this seems to help us a lot more than people from other countries. I've traveled Europe and I knew when I needed to get out of a alley way or area etc and this sense have saved me from numerous mugs and dangerous situations. So for a South african to do something like (travel africa now) this is almost like a Brittish or German tourist comming to SA and walking into Soweto or Khailitshia at night taking pictures and looking for a place to sleep. One should listen to logic aswell The problem is that tourist seems to be naive or just not "educated / street wise" as us. The funny thing is - im from a farming community so not even a City guy / "sadjapie" , and I know when something is just not right. Where you can go and where not to go.
  11. absolutely. But then don't make a big scene about it when they get hijacked and held hostage for a month or more and some or all of them get killed because the government didn't want to pay the ransom. Like some tourist traveling to SA then they go and walk around in the squatter camps at night - get robed / mugged and even killed. Now all of a sudden its a dangerous country - you get my drift. People should not blame something when they already know beforehand that its one of the risks
  12. Its sad that they had to move the Dakar Rally due to increasing dangerous areas in North Africa / and east Africa for that matter. There is nothing more rewarding I think to say I circumnavigated AFRICA! Its just sad to have countries like Somali - with no official government and crazy terrorist taking over Africa. the vast empty areas in the desert is not so empty anymore... I think doing South America or even Asia is a better bet at the moment. Its a lot safer according to stats (not saying you wont have trouble with random locals) - but you never know (that's part of the experience though). For me its just not the same as Africa, but its a good start. Do AUS, ASIA, EUROPE, NORTh and SOUTH america and then do africa when all is good again - this way you did everything.
  13. Respect, but the Africa trip is a bit dodge and especially now. Sudan, Somalia , Libia , Algeria, Mauritania (If the Dakar guys are not willing to face this at 150km/h imagine a girl alone on her bike at 18km/h!) , then I don't even want to mention the countries around the Gulf Of Guinea (western Africa). With terrorism and unrest in most of North africa - i think its just not good timing to do something like this. I would love to do this myself - even driving/riding up to Cairo , but as mentioned.... dodge. Like the Afrikaans saying goes : " Moenie onder die Hoenderstelasie slaap en dan dink die hoenders gaan nie op jou k*k nie" just my 2c ASTANA2010-01-11 02:03:11
  14. Winner2010 ... WTF.. you sound like Ricardo Ricco giving himself a nickname like "the cobra" If you started off closer to the ground more people would have been more positive towards this post. Remember - anything can happen (you can crash get ill or even die before this event) and then your big mouth is shut for good. Good to be positive and outspoken - but were not the sponsor or your team manger you need to impress. Were all a bunch of cyclist - some pro-some hardcore sportsman-some amateur racers-some amateur fun riders-some once a year Argus riders... and the the same at the MTB side..
  15. Solank dit by afrikaans of engels bly is ek OK daarmee. Verstaan f-ol van die ander goed nie... Baie van die engelsmanne verstaan baie goed afrikaans, maar dis mos nie cool om die "boere taal" te praat nie.. ons weet almal waarvandaan dit kom...
  16. One can only complain if a bike in one shop costs 30K and in another 45K - then you have reason to ask questions. Otherwise - shop around for smaller things if the price does not suite you. Problem solved.. Some places have cheap extras and accessories but bikes are expensive - other places other way around and then you get a certain LBS/club where everything is ka-chING!
  17. what are your guys no1 reason for insuring bike - all risks ? Talking about out of home - racing/training - not house break etc. ?
  18. For a 16K MTB I had to pay only R160 p/m at Cyclesure - will be in the region of 180 now - price increase from 1 feb 2010. I stopped my insurance with them and my house insurance must cover bikes while standing there - I'm recovering from my injury so not racing or doing hard training - just casual slow and long rides. will look at them again in the future when I'm up and running again - in full swing
  19. ja jong die opsies is soms so beperk hulle kon dit maar gelos het.
  20. as jy stupid is moet jy k&k Waar shop jy dan ? CL ... ?
  21. mmmm.... OK, so where how why when ? Whats the name etc.. cant really get all that from your post
