I was hoping that South Africa will follow in Britains footsteps and use a "huge" chunk of the Lottery money for the next olympics and also bring back almost 20 gold medals, but alas, after this artical that the National Lottery doesn't pay up I don't know what we are going to do.

Hear this one : The National Lottery promised Swimming South Africa R2.8m last year to help them with the preparations for the recent Olympic Games in Beijing, but they did not see a single cent of the promised money. Probably using it for Shabir's medical bill !

Sascoc, undertook to pay athletes R1m for a gold medal, R500 000 for a silver medal and R250 000 for a bronze medal. In 2000 & 2008 this was paid this was paid to the athletes, but not in 2004 ? Luckily they only had to fork out 500k this time

I try and replace my single bike and tandem chains every 5000 km. That way my cassette stays good for about 20 000 km's. To also save the life of your cassette and chain try not to ride in the top left back gear ( easy ) while on the big chainring at the front and the other way around as well

So there I was at Carousel the weekend ready to start my race at 7H00. Back at home I set the recorder for 6AM Supersport 6 for 6 hours so that I can watch the mens Olympic race when I got back. On our return home I took a shower and got something to eat, ready to watch the cycling before the rugby starts. To my disapointment I recorded 6 hours of gymnastics and horse riding. After the newspapers, internet and Supersport themselves said it would be on SS6. If that wasn't enough I set the recorder again for Saturday night to record fencing, got two friends that are at the Olympics competing in it just to find out that I recorded Showjumping !! They got there times and stations a bit screwed up, I thought it was only SABC that did stuff like that. O well, now I have to look at Supercycling to catch the "highlites" of the road race. Thans SS ...

I think he is talking about Nolan Hoffman who came second in the Jock this year. He was a beast on the Boulders climb.

Does anyone know if the Barloworld team is still going to be with us next year, but only with a different sponsor name ? Are the riders staying together or moving on to other teams ? I heard a romour that Barloworld's funding is going to continue until end of next year ?
