  1. A lot of useful info here... Thanks... I'm on the verge of committing to 70.3 in EL at the end of Jan. I have a few questions. Tri suit under wetsuit...? Then just peel off wetsuit in transition 1...? Also, I'm a bit confused as to what wetsuits are "legal" in these events. I read on the IM site that after 2010, no neoprene suits are to be used, and that you aren't allowed full length legs and sleeves...? Have i misunderstood this...? I'm seeing a lot of pics of people i know, down at the Durban event this weekend, and most are in full length wetsuits, and when googling the brands and models they're in, i see that pretty much all of them are neoprene suits... Any clarity on this will be appreciated.
  2. and that's before its nice n wet from the swimmers. They should chuck a few sand bags in there for a bit of traction and to help the flow.
  3. Hmmm... Right around the corner from home... Reckon I'll have a go... What categories will there be, Gerald...?
  4. B20, do you perhaps have her phone number for me...? You're welcome to send it in a PM...
  5. I'm IN..! Will just get to the bridge before everyone...
  6. We'll never know... Fingers still in ears, LALALALALALALALALA...!!!!! still being sung.....
  7. Just a question... How long is the TUE application and approval process supposed to take...? I mean, for our local "pro's", not Chris Froome. How many potential income earning events do you need to sit out whilst they fumble...? Is the process being run as a streamlined, well oiled machine...?
  8. This is obviously speculation, but their fingers are still in their ears, and they're still going "LALALALALALALALALA....!!!!", so anything here is all pure speculation. One has to wonder why she only got 10 months, and why they are considered to have already been served. I smell rats...
  9. And that's because you can be certain that the bungling bafoons that are SAIDS (and CSA) knew they wrongly allowed her to keep racing and racking up results, possibly knowing full well that what she was taking for medical reasons contained something illegal, and when the UCI stepped in and said "oi, what's going on here fellas...?", they hung her ass out to dry, offering "no further comment on the matter", which is the same as sticking their fingers in their ears and going "LALALALALALALALALA...!!!"
  10. By "Bigger and Badder", I hope they attract the riders that lost interest in the dumbed down GR300 (or 220 as it has become). Funds permitting, this and K2C look like a great plan for my final quarter's race calendar.
  11. I know this was a million posts ago, but if I may chime in... I had stanazolol in my system. Now, I know it's banned, and I'm not going to delve into that whole story again. But... Type Illium Stanabolic (the one I took for years before I had a bicycle), into the app search. Nothing comes up. So, saying its as simple as putting the name of your meds into the search isn't 100% accurate. That 70 year old oom could have a cold before his 7 hour race, get given a tablet or 2 by his wife that had them left over from her influenza back in '68, he types in the name and nothing comes up, pees in a cup and boom, son of a doping mother effer, he's dirty. I find it hard to believe that she was tested, on 3 separate occasions, and all 3 showed an adverse analytical finding, and she knew full well that she was on it. On all 3 occasions, and still continued to arrogantly roll that dice, laughing all the way... Do you think the retards at CSA, SAIDS etc are any different from the ones running our country...? Half assed systems aren't worth having. Everyone cries foul about the athletes failing the system. My money is on the system failing the athlete in a drawn out fumbling of process for a TUE here...
  12. The Epic's policy is that if ANY athlete, amateur or professional, is caught doping, in any race, as of 1 January 2013, they are automatically banned from doing the Epic again. EVER...! Please baby Jesus let her be allowed to race it. I'm dying to do it again...
  13. Well, it allows you to recover quicker, allowing you to respond to a higher volume of stimulus, to illicit a far greater response, in a shorter time than "Joe Average".
  14. Meanwhile... That Samantha Schoeman looks pretty hot... ...
  15. I happen to have petite wrists and ankles ,doll... I'm also now tipping the scales at a supermodelish 76kg's, as opposed to 95, back when... ... ...
  16. Is that Zone 4 and Zone 3...?
  17. DC Rainmaker reviewed the FR 235 with Garmin's built in optical HRM. An interesting read. He shows comparative data between the optical and chest monitors. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/11/garmin-fr230-fr235-review.html
  18. I'm a huge Apple fan. Won't have any other phone. This watch however, really sounds like a gimmick. If you have a Garmin/proper cycling computer already, you're better off keeping that for the bike, and if you want a step counter (which to me is all the Apple watch is a glorified version of), there are much cheaper options out there. If you run and swim too, then a proper sports watch is a better option than the Apple watch. The only allure is that it's 'free', if you reach your fitness goals. But I don't have a discovery card, nor do I want one.
  19. Why would you bother with the Apple watch when you already have the Rolls Royce of fitness watches...?
